Unfortunately, we stopped here as part of our tour today. It was not on the itinerary, and we were unsure what it was so we popped in to see what it was.

Aside from the pretty butterflies, the rest of the animals were kept in small cages. Two monkeys with absolutely nothing to occupy them. The male seemed aggressive towards our 'guide' when she neared the cage.

The crocodile was kept in a pool about half a foot deep and not much longer than its body, which was inside a small empty cage.

The peacocks looked like they'd had their feather stripped, or fell out due to stress.

4 large snakes, all kept in small cages. They are fed live chickens, which are also kept in tiny cages until they're fed to the pythons.

Pretty shocking place, shouldn't be allowed to operate in the way in 2022.

Avoid at all costs!

Stopped here as part of a tour day with chocolate hills ect. Terrible place. The staff have no empathy or compassion for the animals. The monkeys in particular were in such distress and one was even branded as ‘aggressive’ and then was poked and prodded by one of the staff members foot for the tourists to take photos. The other money was ‘double caged’ as it’s aggression was out of hand. The poor monkey was pacing and looked in such distress. There is no space for them, nothing comfortable for them in the cage and frankly the whole place was vile. When I asked how they got the animals, the guide openly admitted they are captured in the wild and bought for tourism. I would love to know who to write to regarding the animal abuse here. No one seemed to care at all, they were more bothered about selling their photos.

Our tour if Bohol stopped here but I would not have chosen to go had I knew.
Besides the butterfly garden which seemed okay, the rest of the animals were kept in tiny cages with only a concrete floor.
There is a crocodile kept in a pool of water only the size of its body. It could live up to 100 years in there... So sad.
Monkies kept in a metal cage with nothing else inside, they seemed aggressive.
Large lizards kept in a dark tiny cage. Snakes laying out on the concrete floor for people to touch and take photos with.
Avoid.

It’s small and the crocodile definitely needs more space but the snakes are healthy and in beautiful condition. They are also halfway building some new enclosures so trying to improve. It’s worth popping in to support local people trying to do something with animals.

Sabrina was an awesome guide.

We went here today with a view to see the butterfly garden, a stop on our pre-organised tour. The butterfly garden itself was okay, but I was absolutely horrified by what else was there.

There are 4-5 pythons there just for people to take photographs with, such an awful environment for them to be in.

There were a handful of animals otherwise in tiny cages with nothing in them, no enrichment etc. A crocodile lay in a cage in a shallow pool the same size as it’s body. 2 macaque monkeys looked very agitated. There was one bird who had lost most of its feathers. I cannot believe places like these still exist and I hope it’s banned and shut down in the near future.

I will be writing to the tour company to ask them to remove it from their tours. Absolutely disgusting, please avoid.

This is an awful place with apathetic, sad animals living in small cages right on the concrete.
Will regret those 90 pesos in entrance fee for the rest of my life, not because of the money spent, but because it will keep the place alive for a little while longer..

Don’t ever go here...!

Do not support this animal prison. I've never been much of a fan of zoos, but this is just the worst thing I have ever seen. I didn't realise it was a zoo until we were inside, again we were taken here as part of a tour. There are various animals in tiny cages. A crocodile with no water, monkeys with no food or water and nothing to swing on - they were going crazy pacing etc. All the animals just looked so sad. We don't event treat prisoners this badly. Day in and day out those poor animals are just trapped there with no idea what life is like outside. One of the Palm Civet Cats had a really sore eye too. Birds in tiny cages so small they can't even spread their wings, let alone fly.

I will be following up with the authorities. This needs to be stopped. There is so much land around this hell hole, that they could improve it so much - again, I'm not a fan of animals in captivity, but they could at least make this more comfortable for the poor animals.

we came here only because it was part of the organised tour to see chocolate hills and tarsiers. it was horrible. the cages are small, the animals have no water, there is absolutely none of their natural environment even attempted to integrate into the cages e.g. the crocodile had about 1mm of water to 'swim' in, no trees or leaves in the bird cages, nothing-just pure plain concrete. every animal looked depressed. a very distressing to see animals being treated this way. as per the other reviewer, I will also be following up with the authorities.

This place is so horrible. Seeing beautiful wild animals that were caught and kept in small, dirty cages was the worst part of an organized "countryside tour" around Bohol Island. If your tour takes you here to see the largest, captive python on the island, please refuse to support this animal cruelty.

I am filled with remorse and guilt for having visited this house of horrors. We were hustled in here as part of a tour without knowing what lay inside. We paid and were cajoled into holding the albino python and sitting with the big python. After this we saw the appalling conditions that various wild species are kept in. This place should be shut down. DO NOT GO
