Had looked at some of the reviews before hand and wasn't too sure what to expect as most of them are old. I was with my family expecting to get food after a long 5 hour journey, a number of reviews had said they served food..well they don't anymore 😂 so please don't waste your time going if that's what you're after.. will note they do let dogs in on one side of the bar and have an outdoor sitting area too if you're only wanting refreshments.

We were staying on Haven Presthaven Sands holiday park with all the family eight of us that includes four grandkids. We wanted to eat out to save the girls cooking we checked the prices in the Mash & Barrel on the site and for the prices that we had payed I would to have a good win on the lottery. We booked a table for eight at the Beachcomber Inn we ordered our meals when we got there on the night. We had to wait a bit you can understand that with eight of us all the adults meals were cooked to perfection and the CHIPS were home cooked made from real potatoes not like them par fried crap that you get. The kids had a good selection as well and they cleared there plates witch is unusual and did not want a pud with us the puds were of great size and very nice. They had a good selection of beers at a good price not like on the camp overpriced coloured water.

I went in for a pint earlier in the day and it was a reasonable enough bar, went back later in the evening to order some food with the wife and kids - that's where the place really lets itself down, they could make it so much better and would make loads of money from the surrounding holiday parks too. After ordering our food it still had not arrived after an hour but the staff continued to take orders for food from other customers? When I politely asked the young lady where it was she said it was going to be another 15 minutes,no apology for my current waiting time in fact her attitude stunk - she was only about 17 and seriously needs to put on a customer service course, eventually when the food did come out it was a disgrace I ordered a chicken curry half rice half chips ,my adult portion had about 4 chips and a spoonful of rice? I thought are you taking the mickey? I can't fathom out why it took so long to arrive too? What on earth where all the staff doing in the kitchen? I asked to see the manager and told him why waiting time was not acceptable, the state of the food that arrived was an insult and I wanted my money back. He said it was policy to take the food back if a refund was going to be given ? My kids where starving hungry had waited 80 minuted for their food and had already started eating it, I dared him to try and take their food from them, I eventually got my money back the kids ate their food, but they still took the two adult portions from us. There were another 2 families in there who had more to say then me and were much more angry than me can't say that I blame them. No leadership in there, no organization, most of the staff are kids with no idea how to talk or deal with adults- the young man (skin head ) who appeared to be in charge was equally as arrogant as the rest of them granted he was running a busy bar but his demeanor and lousy customer service skills, I'm surprised nobody has swung for him. In short they take customers for granted, there were many families in there enjoying themselves but none were eating food they were all drinking ale after all they are on holiday too.

We were staying at Presthaven and decided to try this place as it looked very popular. We went inside to look at the menu and proceeded to roder we were told by the barman that we had to order to the girl! We waited for 'the girl' and she finally arrived. I ordered Lasagne, hubby ordered mixed grill and kids ordered childrens meal. When it arrived i looked at my lasagne and thought it did'nt look very nice. Lasagne is supposed to have white sauce between the layers there was NO white sauce. It was just pasta with tomato sauce. Horrible. Chips were really thick and horrible no taste to them. Hubby was'nt impressed with mixed grill. Hardly any meat on it and very poorly cooked. Kidsd were not impressed with the super thick chips. The place was very dated, smelled of stale beer. Customer service was a joke! Certainly would not recommend anyone to go

We, called in here to pick up wifi so we could have a bet on the horses, I ordered Brains dark mild and the others had Carling, we all agreed the beers were excellent, and cheap, cheaper still if you did happy hour between 5 - 7 pm, we did both as the beer was that good, and we were winning on the horses.
But, the main point for my review is the toilets, the girls had been raving all day about how clean & beautiful the Ladies toilets were, and when I finally needed to go to the gents, these were also beautifully clean.
I, for one always judge a pub, restaurant, cafe or any where by its toilets, and these were excellent.
Didn't,try the food, maybe next time.
An afternoon to remember.

We have a caravan on greenacres but we do not bother going in the beachcomber anymore .over the years it has gone really down needs a complete major refurbishment tables and chairs are years old and most of the regulars have been taken over by people coming from the haven site.the management really ought to spend money on this place as its a dump at the moment.
