About
Oxford is not the only university in town: Brookes is the "other" university that enjoys a healthy rivalry with its older counterpart.

Impressive campus
Jul 2019 • Friends
I know not the academic standard of this institution but if anything like the buildings, it must be first class. I had been invited to an excellent celebratory meal in Brookes Restaurant and had time to wander around some of the campus. Along Gypsy Lane, they all appeared to be quite modern. They were all extremely well appointed, with very nice and comfortable furnishings. The campus was also well designed, with squares with lots of seating and filled with various pieces of modern art.

Nice looking building but not as nice as the real one
Sep 2017
Newish university building. If i went here as a student I would probably live everyday wishing I was at the real university and not this place for wannabees who say they go to oxford but fear a follow up question.

Student Orientated
Sep 2017 • Solo
I’ve been a student for a few months now and the main positive I’ve found is that this university has a very student orientated approach. I don’t feel as if I’m at the bottom of the university hierarchy. The lecturers I have are very thought-provoking and would recommend.

Great experience
Nov 2017 • Friends
Lovely to be able to experience the enthusiasm of the students, from the waiting staff through to the chefs.
The 'trainee manager' wanted feedback, and asked for honesty - so creative criticism was encouraged too

Delightful experience
Oct 2017 • Couples
The food was imaginative and carefully presented but the best part was the feeling of being involved in the development of the students. Our waiter (first year student) explained that he and his fellow students would be alternating between service and kitchen duties during their training. After our lunch we were asked by both service and kitchen team members for our honest opinion of their performance. The enthusiasm and happy demenour of the students was a delight.
The dining room itself is attractive and comfortable and the cost of both food and drink was very reasonable.

student experience
Sep 2016 • Solo
I did my MSc at Oxford Brookes University in 2015-2016 in hospitality Management. Some of the facilities are really modern and good (like John Henry Brookes building), some of the other facilities have been neglected and are lived in. They are sometimes badly maintained. There is not enough computers around campus and the study space is too limited during exam times, which will only get worse when the business faculty moves from Wheatley to Headington.
