The Neolithic Heartland Tour was superb!

Four adult friends, on a British Isles cruise in June, booked the Megalithic Masterpieces tour with Clive. On the pro side, he returned my e-mail inquiry promptly and answered all of my questions (which unfortunately I didn't ask enough of). He was waiting for us at the cruise port, ahead of the scheduled time, and was very knowledgeable about the... More

The full day Neolithic Heartland tour was just about the best tour we've ever had. We were fortunate to be the only two on the tour for the day. But most certainly this tour would be just as good if we had a full van. It was not an impersonal "cattle car" type of tour. Clive, our guide was so... More

Having come to the Orkney islands as part of our North Coast 500 road trip we were keen to see as much as possible. The Neolithic Heartlands tour fits the bill perfectly. Clive was a friendly and extremely informative guide with wonderful snippets in addition to the site information. It was a shame Clive was not allowed to act as... More

Clive's knowledge of the historical sites of Orkney is considerable, and he was able to answer any questions we had. The tour was well organised and allowed just about the right amount of time at each site. We will certainly use this company again when we visit Orkney.

We met Rosemary of Wildabout Orkney at the cruise port and proceeded on our full day of Megalithic Masterpieces. What a great tour. We saw the Stones of Stennes, Tomb of Maeshowe, Skara Brae (neolithic village), Ring of Brodgar and many other sights. We had many shore excursions during our cruise and this one ranked at the top. Rosemary was... More

We enjoyed our tour of four archaeological sites with Clive of WildaboutOrkney. He was enthusiastic, informative, and as a former school teacher, gave detailed answers to our questions. The tour highlights were: Natural harbour of Scapa Flow - photo stop Maeshowe Tomb - guided tour Neolithic Unstan Tomb - guided tour Ceremonial Ring of Brodgar - guided tour Imposing Standing... We spent 11 days and Clive and his crew made it a wonderful experience. Everything, from hotel, taxis, ferry, guides, were handled professionally with personal attention to every detail. Our hotels were comfortable and the food was excellent. Island guides were delightful and locals who knew the islands and their people. If you want the best these islands have to... More

This was a most memorable tour, in spite of freezing winds and rain. Clive was our guide and he was very knowledgeable and gave us much insight into heritage and culture.

Read about Orkney Islands in magazines, but not many people have ever heard about it- have to catch a flight in and Rosemary from WILDABOUT Orkney tours picked us up & was a great guide over 2 days. I would highly recommend this- not sure why more isn't written about Orkney- far more scenic than Stonehenge. Visit Ring of Brodgar... More

This was a wonderful tour of the Orkneys and we saw nearly all the places I wanted to see. The Italian Chapel was much more interesting than I expected and a lovely bit of World War II history. The stone circles (2) were impressive and it was great to walk among and touch the stones. The neolithic village was the... More
