A fantastic and once in a lifetime day out....
Sep 2021 • Couples
I was apprehensive before I went but left understanding a lot more about the different beautiful birds at the center. Gary was amazing, informative, great sense of humour and more importantly demonstrates a great respect and care for the birds. The birds are all well cared for and interactions are safe for both the birds and visitors. What an amazing day and a shout out to the beautiful Mollie the spaniel who took the huff when told to sit in the corner. All good as we said a fond farewell in the car park....

Lovely visit (must do)
Aug 2021 • Couples
Had a delightful visit to the centre(nned to book before you go. ) The centre is owned and run by Gary who is very personable and obviously takes great care of the birds and has a great deal of knowledge to give. The birds are a delight. We did the hawk walk for one hour. It is a true delight to be out in the surrounding field and woodland and be able to view these lovely birds in close quarters. A must see and do thing to visit. An unforgettable visit. Thank you so much.

Can't recommend enough

I booked a 2 day course for my grandson, he enjoyed every minuite, learned a lot and had a great time flying different birds. Gary was very friendly and helpful even picking him up and dropping him back at the hotel.
Can't recommend enough.

One of the best experiences with animals ever
Apr 2016 • Friends
We booked this experience through our hotel (Trigony House Hotel-see separate review). Gary brought 5 birds to the hotel for us to experience. It was 4 hours of working with a variety of birds including 3 owls, a hawk, an eagle from Africa that was rescued when he arrived in the UK and a falcon. Gary is an expert with over 35 years in the business and an encyclopedic knowledge of the birds. Most of the birds have been raised from chicks and trained by the handler. They were all magnificent. You should go to the web site to see them all. We took a walk into the woods with one of the birds who stayed would fly a little ahead but remain with us because he was periodically rewarded with food. Each of us was allowed to feed and hold the bird as he came back. However, during that time he also hunted independently and almost caught a pheasant. We then returned to the hotel and worked having the birds fly between us for reward. Please be aware that you are handling freshly killed chicks as reward for the birds of prey. If you are squimish about this sort of thing you may wish to just watch or avoid this activity. These are also animals that may or may choose to not work that day. You have to be prepared that you may not get to fly one of the birds if they are not interested. Some of the birds are quite large and although we all were totally comfortable around them I have seen people who get frightened by even small birds when they flap there wings in close proximity....again, if that is you this is not the experience. I would not take small children to this but would absolutely take school age and older. All those cautions are to inform you only.. I would strongly suggest that if you take time to experience this. It was beyond fabulous.
