We stayed in Tetebatu for a couple of days.We hired a motorbike on the first but on the second we went for a 7 hour trek around the area with local guide Mr Ang. We really recommend the trek and the guide - Ang is a kind, softly spoken man who is very knowledgeable about local plants and wildlife and has family and friends in all the nearby villages and farms. He took us through some beautiful rice terraces and plantations of a huge variety of fruits and vegetables.we tried coconuts and cacao and Ang even applied a traditional plant poultice to my girlfriend's cut when she grazed her leg. We also saw lots and lots of black monkeys! If you are interested in trekking with Ang you can contact him directly (rather than going through a hotel which then takes a cut of the fee) on 085243404413 or email him at Christ.tetebatu@gmail.com. Ang lives next to the kembang kuning homestay and also can organise travel and accomodation.

If you are looking for a guided tour around Lombok, you might wanna try yourself but you never know where you are going or missing out. I had a very good experience with tourguide Edie. Edie is a friendly, sincere and patient man who knows a lot of farming and crops and plants which is adding to the the tour.. Edie is often hanging out at Same Same hostel or you can phone him on his mobile..+6282339168368

This was one stop on our G adventure (Lombok adventure) Great trek through the rice fields and learning about the village and how both men and work together and how they are all working for the common good of their village! It was great to hear the stories of hard working men and women. Had a delicious lunch! So full afterwards! Gorgeous photo-ops, we even saw monkeys hanging out in the trees! Definitely recommend!

We came here for peace and quiet but forget it. The motorbikes are raucous and there was a huge local party with booming music till all hours. Shame really as it is pretty.
