Not the biggest museum however very well run nicely laid out well kept, all of coarse dedicated to De Havilland. Many of the exhibits have been and still are well restored. Nice shop with facilities to have a sit down with a drink. With friendly staff a particular Highlight was being able to get very close to the aircraft.

I've been meaning to visit the de Havilland Aircraft Museum for years mainly to see the birthplace of the legendary DH98 Mosquito and I was not disappointed! This was like walking on the deck of HMS Victory or over the battlefield at Waterloo: it is a poignant and important place with huge historic significance as both the physical and spiritual... More

Went with my 90 year old dad and 10 year old son (I am in the middle!) and we all had a thoroughly enjoyable visit, in this gem of museum just off the M25. This is a 'unsanitised' working museum, not your pristine beautifully showcased Duxford or Henson. There are roped off exhibits, but there are also many opportunities to... More

We visited the de Havilland Museum to see the three Mosquitos and ended up spending several hours seeing all of the other exhibitions. The museum is staffed by several volunteers how are all very helpful and friendly and who all had a true passion for their jobs. The shop is excellent and it is a very relax and chilled out... More

The Curator, Alistair Hodgeson, spent time with my Mother on her 92nd birthday outing to this wonderful museum. As a 17 year old during the war she was a mechanic and had worked on the engines of Mosquito's. It was a wonderful trip back to the past for her and she was able to share her stories. A small and... I felt that for the £10.00 it cost to get in it would be better to have a junk yard , that would at least have been free. The main hanger is okay, but it was really over priced for what it offers.

Until I did a search for museums in Hertfordshire, I never knew the de Havilland Aircraft Museum existed, yet it is not many miles from where I live. It was a lovely surprise to find so many fascinating exhibits based around the theme of the de Havilland company and presented and explained so well by the volunteer staff. There seems... More

If you like aircrafts, and are passing St. Albans then it is worth visiting the De Havilland aircraft museum, they have some great restoration projects and the displays are both civilian and military planes spanning from the beginning of the flight era to commercial airlines. Don't miss the jet engine display behind the coffee shop.

A great little museum to spend a few happy hours. There are many planes that you can actually go into, and get a real feel of what it was like to fly in them. The staff are so helpful and can answer any questions you ask them. It was lovely to see so many young volunteers around the museum, with... More

This place is quite quaint, in an old fashioned "club" style. Very friendly and very "volunteer-esque" place with lots of enthusiastic people milling around. It has a sort of junk yard feel to it. I don't mean that to sound cruel - it's just not got the funding of a Duxford or whatever. So the planes are kind of as... More
