This archeological museum shows the life of the inhabitants of the Great Moravian Empire, probably during the reign of Prince Svatopluk.
In addition to buildings, there are also goats, children can play with them.
Photos had to be taken outside the paid space.

This attraction is next door to the Ziva Voda attraction. This is a typical medieval village where the different structures are well preserved and the way they are set out gives you a good idea of how locals lived in those days. Good and inexpensive outing for families with children.

Checked both web and fb page for exceptions from business hours, none found. Arrived on Saturday to find out they are close for the public because of the wedding. When I had been changing clothes of my children on the bench of outdoor table, I was rudely kicked out by the waiter not to damage little flower ať the center of the table. He confirmed they are opened the next day.
So the next day we again checked sites and arrived there at 11 am only to find out that they are opened from 12 am. So we waited for 1 hour at outdoor table. 11.59 the waiter changed the sign to "outdoor tables are closed", so we went inside. Saloon was closed for the public, upstairs was closed entirely, two tables were reserved and two other tables were missing. All remaining tables were already occupied meanwhile we were waiting outside. No apology from the staff.
TLDR: Strongly do not recommend because absolute lack of tact and ability to provide basic information from the staff.

I've been to many skanzens, but this was something new. Usually they display living of people few centuries in the past, but Archeoskanzen Modra takes you to era more than 1000 years ago, when houses were simple and made only of wood and straws, not bricks. Whole village looks very authentic, despite that everything was built from scratch based on archeological discoveries in area. They even have farm animals running around creating really live atmosphere. Unfortunately I didn't catch any live performance they are doing, but even though I felt like I traveled backe in time.

I visited this place as a kid and I really loved it there. It was such an interesting experience to see how people from the Great Moravia age lived.

We came to visit outside the main season, the place was practicaly empty but that was to our benefit. Very pleasant lady selling tickets. There was quite a few domestic animals about to much enjoyment of our children and we had all the time to read through interesting fact sheets. Unique in its setting. We can certainly recommend.

I have been to numerous open air museums. This one, however, takes to so long history, that it stuns with every building. Did they really live in such conditions? If yes, it's crazy how great they reproduced the history!
