This pathway is in fact the stations of the cross. It enables to see the different steps of Jesus’ ascension on the cross.
However, if you’re not Christian, you can still like this randonnée, no worries. It will astonish you by the view you can get on the island, seeing it from above.
Then, if you can’t walk a lot, or if you’re not sporty, don’t go there, it’s quite difficult, with lots of steps. It’s practicable but not easy.

The 13 stations along the way broke up what was a really good walk as you got as close as possible to the inactive volcano summit. There were many breath taking views of the coastline the higher you got.

I think it was interesting. Im not a religious person but it was nice to learn about the story of the Easter. And it was Holy Week so maybe it was even more special.

Similar to other Stations of the Cross walk, this has 15 stations depicting Jesus' last walk to his crucifixion. The statues are good quality and the descriptions break up a walk that can be hot & tiring especially after the first section when the trees thin out.
My only disappointment was that the walk stops at the end of the stations, perhaps 50m below the summit - so you don't get to the very top to see the old caldera and 360 degree views.

We were not able to complete the walk like the kids did (if your old its a tough climb & hot) We sat back & watched the people coming & going while resting in the shade. Figures are very life like views from the top were excellent we were told. Early morning before the sun starts beating down would be best I think

It's a nice walk/hike that takes about 45 minutes one way depending on your speed. Bring water and a towel to wipe the sweat you'll definitely produce. At the top you've got a nice view of the surrounding area and the ocean. You can do it on flip flops when it's a dry day, but I wouldn't recommend it.

this is about a 30 mins walk up a track with steps not too difficult can get hot. The religious side of the path is a bit different for a westerner to see. The entrance is easily identifiable at the side of the road not far from the sunken cemetery. View is OK but not amazing. You can get right up on to the top of the volcano if you veer off the path and go straight up between to of the later stations.

due to time constraints, our climb uphill did not materialize. i know it was unfair for me to give this an average rating just because i didn’t consummate my visit. and the decision was a group consensus.

the walkway looked challenging actually. had i been informed there was an activity like this in our itinerary, i would have booked a later flight back to manila. mountain climbing has always been my way of communing with nature.

i will definitely go back to camiguin and retrace my paths to the old volcano sometime in the future.

My husband and I visited here the last time we went to Camiguin to pray the Stations of the Cross and do some hiking. I'm out of breath at times as it was an uphill climb but the trail is not bad. Bringing a trekking pole with you is ideal. Wear proper footwear and bug spray. Near the top you'll see smoke rising from the old volcano. Beware of the narrow trail near the 13th-14th station so watch your step. Excellent view from the top. 👍🏻
