About Green School Tours
Green School Bali is a non-profit private Pre-K to Grade 12 school set in the heart of the Bali jungle in one of the most beautiful school campuses. A visit to Green School is a unique opportunity to see, feel and hear about one of the world’s most unique and progressive places of learning. From soaring bamboo structures, to the beautiful Ayung River, our paths through the jungle will take you to a place like no other. Our school is open daily (rain or shine) for guided tours and we welcome visitors from around the world. Suitable for all ages, although as our campus is intentionally rugged and the tour involves a short hike, we highly recommend comfortable shoes and bringing your own refillable water bottle (or you can get one from our Green School shop). All tour profits support our Local Scholars Program. “You have to visit Green School Bali to truly experience the uniqueness of such an inspiring, educational and architectural vision come to life”

We visited and were left feeling that the Green School is a bright shining example of everything that is wrong with the 'green' movement. This place is run like a fake green Disneyland charging for tours and filled with rich kids paying big bucks flown in (business class?) from other fake green bastions around the world such as California. It's more like a summer camp than a school. So you learn how to plant an organic garden - whoopee - hardly saving the world considering the students will eventually return to 'the world' (by airplane), to make lots of money to buy the latest mobile phone, a new auto, use electricity, aircon, heating, live and work in concrete buildings etc... There is also a Green Village next to the school where for around USD700,000 you can buy a house made of bamboo. 700k!!!! How long will a house made of bamboo last??? Bamboo is hardly going to save the world so what is the point? But hey, if it makes people feel good about themselves then more power to the owners of the school. The tour itself is great if you buy into the delusion that this is the way forward, but for me it was ridiculous and pointless.

We toured green school Bali on a Saturday morning and were so impressed. The vision that has come to life there is quite extraordinary. They have sustainable buildings, their own vege gardens, farm, environmentally friendly toilets, recycling and even their own water vortex to make power. Excellent initiative and worth touring to see what can be done.

I had been told about this tour by my mother (an Architect), so was prepared to be awed by the bamboo structures, which I was. What I was not so prepared for was to be immersed in the educational philosophy and see some of the student-led projects come to life. The BioBus is truly inspirational! What a great approach to education! If only more of the Balinese children could benefit!

My wife a retired school teacher always wants to come and visit. Your school is inspirational and enjoyable. Over the years we have made donations and gave had our names carved in the bamboo which is always fun to come and see. But back to the school and the tours. I have always been impressed with the tour guides. Some a little better than others. But when reading some of the negative reviews I got the impression there eyes and ears were closed and only wanted to find fault with the system. Sometimes I think people are just negative over all. My opinion the concept is beautiful and right on. When you have corporate sponsors providing support and people like Charles Bronson, Jane Goodall, Walter Mondale and many others supporting this school and its teaching methods it can't be all bad. If you come to Bali you should go to the Green School and take the tour. The best part I like is the proceeds from the tours goes to support scholarships for the local children and that is a good thing. One other point I failed to make was how much they do for the local community to encourage waste management, environmental issues and more. IT IS JUST A VERY GOOD PROGRAM AND EVERYONE SHOULD INVEST IN THEIR COMMUNITY.
