We very much recommend Tanzania Adventures (their new website is tanzania-safari-zanzibar.com). We first booked with them and paid a deposit in 2016. Due to family health issues, we had to cancel the trip and ended up going in Feb/March 2019. Tanzania Adventures were great and honoured our booking three years later. Calvin kept in touch with us via email and even organised to pick us up personally from Arusha airport at the start of our holiday. Tanzania Adventures organised perfect accomodation, transport and transfers. We were extremely impressed. Our tour guide Peter was amazing. We saw every animal you could hope to see and much closer than we imagined, even a black rhino. It was truly a great experience. We went to three national parks, Tarangire, (1 day) Ngorongoro (1 day) and Serengetti (4 day’s). The accomodation was great. The night safari at Mapito Tented Camp was fantastic. We saw a lioness, a leopard, zebras and many many other animals on the night safari. We had seen these animals in the national parks, but to see them very close and at night was awesome as they are more active at night. Tanzania Adventures also organised our flights and accomodation and transfers for Zanzibar. We stayed at the Azao Resort for 3 days and then the Z Hotel for 4 days. Both hotels were excellent. The day trip to Stone Town, organised by Tanzania Adventures was excellent and informative. Thanks Tanzania Adventures for a well planned and enjoyable holiday. Our holiday was from mid February to early March and despite being the off season, it did not rain at all while we were there. It’s a great time of the year to go as there are very few tourists and heaps of animals - although you will not see the great migration at Mapito camp at this time of year.

Probably the best safari ever! Tanzania Adventures was amazing and every person was so kind and wonderful. We wish we actually stayed an extra few days. The safari we did was 7 days in the low season and our guide, John, and cooks, Marco and John, were all so great. We did the special campsite in the Serengeti for 3 nights and it was just perfect being out there all alone with the us and the wildlife. If you are looking for a real bush experience, I recommend this highly. John also took us on all the trails where there weren't any people and this was amazing. We saw so many things and had so many events where we were the only ones watching 7 tigers eating a kill for over an hour. I recommend to go with a local tour company because not only do you get a real sense of what life is like there but also the money stays local. So fun and can't wait to go back!

We took a tour of Serengeti, Lake Manyara, and Ngorongoro Crater, followed by a few days r&r in Zanzibar to celebrate my sister's 50th birthday. Tanzania Adventure (thanks Lucas!) worked with us to organize our trip down to the smallest detail. Lodging was selected to meet with our budget, and in all cases was top-notch. Our first stop in Arusha, at the Ilboro Safari Lodge gave us the opportunity to adapt to our new surroundings. Our second stop at the Lake Manyara Photographic Lodge had tremendous views and first-class hospitality. Our third stop at the Mapito Tented Camp in the Serengeti felt like we were inside the park and had an amazing outdoor shower. Finally, our fourth stop at the Ngorongoro Farm House dazzled us with its spectacular gardens, coffee plantation, and grounds. While the lodging choices were fantastic, we were overwhelmed with the knowledge and professionalism of our guide "Jo-Jo". He knew where to find the mammals and birdlife in the parks, was an expert navigator of Tanzanian roads, and he went out of his way to ensure that our safari experience exceeded our expectations. We will recommend Tanzania Adventures and Jo-Jo to all of our friends. Thanks!!!

My partner and I booked a private safari followed by a week on Zanzibar through Tanzania Adventure and it was the holiday of a lifetime. The itinerary (Tarangire - Lake Manyara - Ngorongoro Crater walk - Serengeti then to Zanzibar) was perfect and our guide Jojo was fantastic. He was extremely knowledgeable and good company - very important if you’re going on a road trip with just three of you! The accommodation that was recommended by Tanzania Adventure was fantastic, a good mix of small, personal camps and more luxurious lodges, but all very comfortable and more than we could have expected out in the wild. Our resort in Zanzibar, Breezes, was also superb, and a great place to relax after a full-on safari. Booking and paying was fairly straightforward and we were looked after from touchdown at Kilimanjaro to our departure from Zanzibar airport. The price was much cheaper than if we’d booked through a UK travel agent and there is much more flexibility, though we ended up choosing the default package. I can’t recommend Tanzania Adventure or Jojo highly enough. The only thing I would change? We had two nights in Stonetown at the end of the trip when one would have been enough. It’s not an especially nice place, though it did do the job of bringing us back down to earth before our journey home!

Planning for our sfari was made easy working with Lucas at Tanzania Adventure. Any of the changes we wanted were accomodated and we finally came up with a safari that looked like what we wanted. The scariest part of the planning was sending large sums of money to Africa, however once again Lucas was always quick to respond and confirm that the money had arrived. Our safari began in Arusha and included Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara, Ngorogoro Crater and the magnificent Serngeti. We flew out of the Serngeti then on for 7 days in Zanzibar. Our guide Ombeni was brilliant, managing to somehow spot animals when we had no clue they were there. He made sure we saw not only the big five, but almost every other animal that lives in beautiful Tanzania. All connections and transfers happened without a hitch with people ready to meet us at Kilimanjaro Airport and Zanzibar. Accomodation was incredible at every stop. Sangaewi Tented Lodge was amazing with incredible views and great private tents with attached ensuite. Thank goodness for the pool after a hot day in Trangire. The Rift Valley Lodge was the most out of the way place again with great views with the added benefit of animal noises at night. Sopa Lodge on the rim of the Ngorogor Crater is a large hotel and very different to the tented lodges elsewhere but very comfortable and with a staff choir that entertained us. Mapito tented camp in the Serengeti was a very unique experience. Again a tented camp with attached ensuite. At night we were escorted from the restaurant to our tent and during the night Zebra, Wilderbeast and Elephant were all very close with Hyena and Lions heard a little further away. In Zanzibar we stayed at the fantastic Zanzabari Hotel and had a private suite. The hotel only has 11 rooms so most of the time we had the pool and the restaurant to ourselves. Very relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable. Great staff. Finally to the hustle and bustle of the Maru Maru Hotel in Stonetown, also great accomodation in the centre of the narrow streets of Stonetown. Our holiday was a truly unforgettable experience made very easy by Tanzania Adventure Ltd. Thank you Lucas and special thanks to our guide Ombeni, you were fantastic
