A variety of beautiful walks.

Delightful place for a short or longer stroll.
The wood is criss-crossed by footpaths and bridle ways, so you can choose the length of your walk.
An added bonus is the great George pub nearby, with excellent ales and delicious food.

Stunning

Just stunning in any season. My personal favourite is when all the Bluebells are out. So lucky living so near here.

Regular haunt

We love this place and so does our Border Collie. Plenty of parking, plenty of space. Lovely walks amongst the trees, plenty of shade.

Shady

We walk our dog here a lot. There’s always parking, it’s lovely and shady in the trees weather it’s hot or cold. We often use the benches provided to picnic,it’s just a lovely spot.

Lots of lovely paths to explore in the cool shade
Jun 2018 • Friends
Sat just north of Eartham village.
Large car park that is never full. No toilets, cafe or shop.
Loads of different walking paths to explore, best done with an OS map.
Stane Street (old Roman Road) can be part-walked from here. Some great views when you emerge from the woods towards Bignor masts in the north east.
Yup, its a wood so trees are the king here, offering plenty of cooling shade during this heatwave.
Great for any age to get some exercise and fresh air. A few slopes to conquer but nothing too strenuous. Always quiet.

Lovely walk with the Dog
Apr 2018 • Couples
Having never been in this area before, we looked around for somewhere to walk the dog and this fitted the bill. She had a good run round even though the area was very wet and muddy due to the immense amount of rain of late. Recommend it.

It's a wood!

Cycle through here quite often but let's face it, it's a wood. Not much to say other than there are lots of trees!

Great place to explore with lovely feel to it
Jul 2017 • Couples
Who'd have thought it, tucked away off the A27 between Slindon and Funtingdon, there's a lovely quiet spot for a stroll. The car park is aa bit rough and ready and if you have a high topped camper forget parking there, but once you get into the woods along the paths and among the trees it's great. Little dens built by kids nestle in the wooded glades and the fresh air is a great tonic. Take good shoes and prepare for mud even if there's been the slightest hint of rain. Take a look it's worth it.

Tranquil
Jun 2017 • Friends
It is difficult to grade this location. If you are not interested in nature or the countryside, why would you visit !!. It is a quiet location with clear pathways to wander around and enjoy the tranquility. There is adequate parking on most occasions but no other services. Deer, squirrels, many birds and a variety of plants can be seen and imaginative photographic opportunities exist.
