If you are in the area, you shouldn't miss this beautiful castle. It's perched on top of a hill and the architecture is stunning, it looks like the archetypal central-European castle with its pointy turrets and spectacular views on the surrounding countryside. We visited on...More

The castle itself is from a fairy tale: gorgeous. The organization of the castle is poor. It's hard to find someone speaking English and the bar/restaurants in the castle do not accept credit card. In the parking lot of the castle you will find kids...More

The accompanying English text for the Czech tour was very good, and I didn't miss out. The musical performance was a nice, individual touch for this castle.

We rushed out to Hrad Bouzov after arriving in Olomouc. The 40 minute drive is very pretty and the castle's a short walk from the lot. It is an interesting castle but not quite in the category of Karlstejn (Praha) or Burg Eltz (Germany). They...More

One of the most spectacular castles I have ever seen. Beautifully preserved former residence of the Order of the Teutonic Knights, confiscated by the communists and nationalized in 1940s. The architecture is breathtaking, the tours are very interesting and the views are just incredible. If...More

We had an one hour tour which was interesting. They had tours only in local language and we got an English text to follow. In general the communication was very difficult

Prague Cesky Krumlov to Bouzov castle (2 Replies)
Hi my husband and I are planning to rent a car from Prague and then drive to Cesky Krumlov for 2 nights. Check around the area, then 1 night near Bouzov castle, visit Pernstain castle on the way and need to find accommodation in the area there. We would like to experience a smaller and beautiful town rather than a big city like Brno. We looked at Olomouc not sure how easy it is to get in and out of the city. Just a bit tight with the time? Can anybody recommend a nice area to book...More
