Bouzov castle is the largest and most impressive castle in Moravia, and one of the nicest castles I have seen in the Czech republic. The castle is a must-see if you visit the Olomouc region.

Remarks:
- Plan ahead if you don't speak Czech. As is often the case in the Czech Republic, most of the staff speaks little or no English. Also, the English version of the website seems to have disappeared, I have provided a google translate link to the Czech site with this review. There are many options for thr guided tour, select what you want, then print out the czech version and mark it so that you can communicate what you want.
- We went with a small boy age 5, and the guided tour was a bit long for him. The dress-up tour would have been nicer for him, but was fully booked.
- Some parts of the castle -like the tower- have limited access, to prevent overcrowding. The standard tour is nice too, though. If you really want to climb the tower (the view must be specacular), prepare for a longer wait.
- If you have teenaged kids into LARP, the costume tour is great.
- Driving towards Bouzov from the motorway exit, take the signed route (brown signs with white lettering) rather than the shortest gps route. It guids you towards the access road where you have the best view of the castle rising above the valley.

This is deffinitely a visit worth.
The castle is already impressive when you are comming by car and appears behind the hill. Looks really like from a fairytale. Looks like mediaval one but was almost completely rebuild only aproximately 100 years a go.Castle tour was interesting, also kids find their secret doors and stairs :) Its recommended to use all the circuits, including the castle tower and underground.

We had an one hour tour which was interesting. They had tours only in local language and we got an English text to follow. In general the communication was very difficult

Beautiful castle basically in the middle of nowhere. The trip you may find exhausting, but the reward is surprisingly good. The place is excellently taken care of, the route through the castle is interesting and the castle from outside looks just like out of fairy tale.

We had trouble finding the place since the roads were torn up for repairs and the detours were not marked well, but it was worth the trouble. The castle is beautifully restored and gives a great impression of what life was like in the past. The guides don't speak English, so you get a written guide, you're not allowed to wander around by yourself, and the guides tend to rush people through. No pictures allowed inside. It would have been nicer if you could stop and truly admire the interiors, wall paintings and decorations, instead of being herded from room to room in a great hurry.

The castle is well-restored and rich in interiors, and in history. A choice of two tours and extra programmes, well worth time spent. Free parking possible in city square.

This castle is a "must see" in Olomouc region. The castle is really beautiful, there are 6 different tours... we took "the castle" (130 CZK) thinking we will see the whole castle, unfortunately it didn't included the tower (you need additional ticket to visit the tower). The rooms were full of old furniture and decorations. Beware you have to pay for parking (60 CZK).

It's a tragedy that most people don't know about this lovely little gem in Moravia. My parents were born in the Czech Republic and took me here when I was fourteen years old. For me, the highlights are:

1) Few lines, no rushed tours and you can enjoy the castle at a leisurely pace.
2) The Czech Republic was always captured or handed over during more European wars, so the majority of the Czech lands are undisturbed from war; the surrounding countryside of Moravia is beautiful, and original, unlike most European cities/regions.
3) The castle was built in the 13th and 14th centuries, and is the original, unlike castles such as Neuschwanstein Castle, which was completed in 1892.

A true gem. The castle is located 33.3 km (32 min) northwest of Olomouc. A must visit when in the Czech Republic!

I was born in this town we left when I was very young so I do not remember anything really.
This castle is around 800 year old castle dating back to the early 1300's.
The architecture has changed many times over the centuries from early Gothic to Renaisssance style. We had a guide with us since we were on tour which was invaluable for knowledge of the long history. Be prepared to spend many hours here.
I am catching up on some of my reviews from our 3 months trip around Europe so this review is many months old...sorry! .
