We rushed out to Hrad Bouzov after arriving in Olomouc. The 40 minute drive is very pretty and the castle's a short walk from the lot. It is an interesting castle but not quite in the category of Karlstejn (Praha) or Burg Eltz (Germany). They have English descriptions available if there are no English tours available. You may want to... More

One of the most spectacular castles I have ever seen. Beautifully preserved former residence of the Order of the Teutonic Knights, confiscated by the communists and nationalized in 1940s. The architecture is breathtaking, the tours are very interesting and the views are just incredible. If you visit Olomouc, do stop by at this magical castle! Highly recommended...

Really nice and romantic castle just outside of Olomouc. Not to big fully rebuild still very old castle. Nice tour guide, especially when we visited it on 14 februari :). In midst of winter the castle is normally closed but it opened for Valentines day. It was really cold inside, but that was the only drawback. Other than that it... More

If you are near Olomouc in the Czech Republic, do not miss a visit close by to this wonderful castle. Been doing castles in Europe for 40+ years and this one is a gem. Room after room filled with authentic artifacts. Great tour, although I had to use an English translation booklet. Allowed me to look around and photo with... More

Although this is a fortress castle but it looks like a fairy-tale castle. There are several guided tours available. Many films have been made there. A car is essential to reach this place as is located in the middle of nowhere I was there a few times. Love it.

We had an one hour tour which was interesting. They had tours only in local language and we got an English text to follow. In general the communication was very difficult

Beautiful castle basically in the middle of nowhere. The trip you may find exhausting, but the reward is surprisingly good. The place is excellently taken care of, the route through the castle is interesting and the castle from outside looks just like out of fairy tale.

As we looked at our pictures of the castle we found out that it is a good idea to take them from far far away. Castle is very tall and the contrast against the rest of the village, or farm fields is just great. Also, we parked a car at the parking lot at the foot hills of the church,... More

The drive to Bouzov was beautiful, as was the castle. Great trip on a summers day if you are passing through the region.
