Did my PADI open water with Dry Suit with the Nemes team. Came recommended and didn't disappoint. Incredibly friendly Team, from the people that sort out your tea, to your instructors. Nothing's too much trouble and the level of service is brilliant. Since learning I've also booked a trip through Nemes to dive in The Farne Islands, which was brilliant. A great environment for a new diver, as they will always find you a buddy to go out with. Also always given the impression of great value for money, very genuine and trustworthy people. Diving is also a laugh here with a bunch of goodies to discover like the bus, planes, cars, scooter etc.

My partner and I completed our confined water dives with Nemes who use the local swimming pool - we were apprehensive at first, our instructors were fantastic and soon put our minds at ease! All instructors were incredibly friendly, very professional, very knowledgeable and above all else very patient - we weren't made to rush anything and even when I got the most simple thing wrong we just worked on it until I mastered it. We are completing our open water dives in Australia but I would have no hesitation is using Nemes again and would definitely recommend them!

My wife and a friend came here to practice open water swimming for the Great North Swim. Friendly staff made them feel welcome, and keep me and another friend in tea and coffee for a relaxing hour or so while they swam the 400 m laps. training complete and Great North Swim finished both swimmers have returned because they enjoy coming here, that must say a lot. There are also many divers in the water, finding the underwater objects including a bus, plane and van. Well worth a visit if you like diving or open water swimming.

The diving is what it is, max depth about 11 meters and a chalk bottom. This can easily be kicked up. What is good to see is more objects being put in the lake to view, recently a bus, some new knomes and giant crocodile. Main objects lined out to guide you if the visibility is reduced. Shop is well stocked and some good bargains to be had. Now on site is a burger van so hot food can be purchased.

Nemes is a small and friendly operation with spotless facilities and very helpful staff. Holborough Lakes has a rope system for easy navigation and a wealth of things to look at. Look out for the Terminator! If you can, visit on a week day and you may well have the lake to yourself. Free tea and coffee is offered after every dive and there are benches making it easy for kitting up. There aren't any showers however and the changing rooms are small but immaculate. Please note that you will drive through a new housing estate to find Nemes. Entry is £10 and £5 for an air fill. There is a catering van offering hot and cold food.
