Marvelous Mawgan Porth
Oct 2020
Spent a week in North Cornwall in October2020 & just catching up with reviews.
This was probably my favourite beach whilst on holiday in North Cornwall. Quite what makes a favourite I'm not sure as they are all stunning.
At Morgan Porth on a sunny October day it was not busy, the tide was out & we walked for over an hour just exploring the beach & all the rock pools.
As it was October it was easy to park. Like with many other cornish beaches I'm sure in the summer months things are completely different.
Parking available & a few places to purchase food & drinks.
Toilet facilities available.
A really enjoyable few hours.
Dog friendly when we visited in October.

Fantastic family friendly beach with nice cafe.
Empty at this time of year.
My grandchildren loved the shallow water and we even went for a swim in Sept.
Rock pools great fun.
Car park right by the beach but not a huge amount of space.
Loved it

Safe and clean beech.
Sep 2020
Have just returned home from a beautiful weekend away at Mawgan Porth. Have to say this is a fabulous beach.
The whole beach here is spotlessly clean and the water as clear as tap water. There are rock pools and caves to explore at low tide. Plenty of surfers in the sea when we visited but an area was kept clear for swimmers. There is a lifeguard on duty during the peak months. Also dogs were allowed on this beach but I'm not sure if that is the case all year round.
We were staying in a local hotel so walked down a steep path from there but I noticed there was parking available in the town and access to the beach was easy from there. There are a few shops and cafes and a restaurant on the beech front but unfortunately there was a major power cut during our visit and there were all closed due to this.

A beach
Aug 2020 • Family
Easy and cheap parking (plenty of spaces if you go early enough) but the beach itself had lots of flies all over the sand no matter where we sat they were everywhere

Dog friendly quiet beach

Lovely beach, can access coastal path and plenty of walks. Dog friendly. Parking accessible opposite near to restaurant, did get busy so perhaps best to come early. Would visit again if in the area.

One of my favourite beaches
Jan 2020 • Couples
Haven’t been here for a few years since down one October with the kids when they were small

Down in Newquay in business and long weekend with my wife

We had a stroll on the beach

Bright cold and blustery with big breakers rolling in

Almost empty given time of year (Jan)

Magical

Super beach!
Jan 2020
Not far from one of our other favourite beaches, Porthcothan. Even on a blustery January day a pleasure to walk across, especially at low tide. Dog friendly as with the vast majority of Cornwalls beaches, so please help to keep it this way and pick up after your dog. Spoilt a bit on this visit as it was quiet of course, however it does get busy in season.
Plenty of choice for eating/refreshments plus a few other shops if you feel that way inclined.
Regardless, enjoy low tide and walk out to see the cliffs and rocks and soak up all that great fresh air!
Parking available at the back of the various restaurants and shops, no on road parking.
A couple of hours well spent, and as we are nearer now more visits will be forthcoming!

Absolutely stunning

Rolo my french bulldog and I stayed nearby for a few days. The beach is fabulous and during our stay in October it was very very quiet. Amazing sunsets and great for walking with the pooch.
