The Gorges de l'Ardeche is a beautiful place to visit with lots of possible activities to be enjoyed. On a somewhat rainy day, instead of canoeing as we had planned, we visited the Grotte de Saint Marcel. There are several caves in the region but we decided on this one. The cave is pretty amazing, but the highlight is the... More

We have been to this grotte twice now - and the visits are good (unfortunately we missed the English guide on the first visit - usually at 4,00pm - and the guide was off sick when we visited on the second occasion, frustrating!!) - you can muddle through with the notes sheet, but it's not the same! It is about... More

This is a particularly well-organised visit. It costs only Euro10.00 per adult for an excellent one-hour guided tour. Allow 1-2 hours. Do NOT take infirm or elderly people or young kids - as there are loads of steps up and down and walking on slippery surfaces. We were lucky to have a really knowledgeable and personable guide in our group... More

I have visited many caves and this has to be one of my favorites! We were lucky enough to have a tour in english which truly made the tour much more fascinating! Home of the largest collection of pools, they highlight this with a fun light and sound show in 2 different places along the tour. The online pics do... More

I recently visited the cave, it's a fabulous place but I had a bad experience with the guide, not bad, the worst ! I understand french language and the speach's guide was rude, with bad bad jokes, all my familly was shocked. Fortunately, my childs didn't understand french. But the worst part wasn't that, the guide was agressive with people... More

This tour was phenomenal. My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed it. If you're in this area of France, this is a "must see" grotto.

Visited using the Ardeche Pass, and had a guided tour. Was interesting with the formations - being different to ones seen in the UK... Flooring within the cave was slippy (a couple of people slipped). Went there early and had a smallish group of around 25 people. Lighting seems to prompt the guide to move on, as you walk further... It is a huge cave on the side of a hill. This delightful place on your way to the Arc is a must see natural wonder. The caves are huge and the sights unbelievable. There is also a light and sound show which at best is mediocre. One of the oldest human work of art exists in this cave. There... More

We visited these caves to escape the heat for a little while (it's about 14C degrees down there). The only way to get in is by taking a guided tour, there is one every hour. Be warned, that these tours seem to be only in French, and rapidly spoken. A big big downside is that they don't seem to limit... More

Like many in the area, beautiful cave. The "service" is terrible. You can only see the cave during a manditory guided tour, on their pace (they turn down all the other lights). The guide speaks only French, not a word English. If you complain they refer to a small banner they gave at the start implying it will suffice as... More
