I swim here 3 times a week and have done so for many years including the original 50 metre pool.
I must say they have finally got the pool right. You can swim here any time of day from 6-30 to late evening. There are two 25 metre pools side by side 4 lanes in each pool. Shallower pool normally used by school kids and other functions.
Also handy if your learning yourself.
Gym is brilliant and so are the staff.Always at hand to help.
Ladies in the cafe and reception are top notch, lovely people.
Coffee, breakfast and snacks etc are lovely.
Great place to go to keep fit and have a lunch or breakfast.
Soft play is great for kids as well.
May it all continue, fab place.

After the old lido burnt down, the new one was a long time in replacing a sporting centre. There is a great gym set up, along with halls for other classes, but the pool is small and cramped in the summer. There is a lot of potential in the centre, but it seems that the enthusiasm or leadership is not quite there.

Very poor customer care services. Staff are rude, inconsiderate and impolite. Only two employees out of 56 are reasonably helpful and friendly(Amy and Scott). Chris [–], the manager, is not interested in wellbeing of centre users, he is dishonest and lazy manager. He would not disclose the names of staff who were ill mannered on the phone to the customers and was not prepared to apologise for the rudeness of his staff. The whole attitude of the centre is discriminative, arrogant and racist.

The staff are lovely and very polite and friendly but .....
I found that the soft play area over priced (3.50) and extremely small for the toddlers. Where as the soft play area for the older children is the same price but a lot bigger. I think it is over priced for the toddlers. Think a fairer price of £2.50 per toddler would be a fairer price, especially as the toddlers don't stay as long as the older children.

Great leisure centre with a wide variety of classes but the busier classes do get booked up very quickly. Small cafe area with a good selection of food being available.

Called twice in row and on both occasions the pools wete closed.
I'd checked online for opening times and there was no notice there, both times the rude girls on reception just responded with 'it's on facebook' and then smirked when I said I didn't use Facebook.
The place is generally quite grubby.
The play area doesn't have a secure door so kids can literally run out of soft play onto a car park!! I have HUGE safety concerns and would never let my daughter play in there.

This opened relatively recently, after the Afan Lido Sports Centre was gutted by a blaze.
This new Leisure and Exercise hub has three pools: a young children's/toddlers pool, a pool of variable-settings depth (normally set at 1.03 metres, but capable of at least 1.33 metres or around 4 feet), and the adult/slant stronger swimmers pool (a uniform depth of 2 metres, or about 6 foot 6 inches). The two latter pools are each 25 metres long.
There is an aquacise class that runs on Monday and Wednesday at 12 noon till one, another newly-added session at 13:00-14:00 on Friday, and another session at 18:30-19:30 on Sunday.

we thought we'd take advantage of the "free swim for the kids" which was restricted to the hours of 10 am - 12 pm. We found out at reception it saved us £1.90,but we were restricted to these times. We chose 11 am, paid at reception, changed and went to the pool. My youngest grandson was in the kiddies pool and i was about to join him, when we were told we were not allowed to use it as it was being used by a class. This meant he couldn't use the pools as the other one was out of his depth. By the way the class consisted of about 10 people. The kiddies pool is about 50 foot long and 25 foot wide, but the instructor said they use all the pool. We were not the only people who turned up with little kids expecting to be able to use a public swimming pool during the school holidays. My wife who was prepared to carry him around in the bigger pool for an hour tried to persuade him to use the bigger pool as not to spoil the day for my other grandson. I kicked up a fuss and asked a life guard if they could give us arm bands, which we would have brought with us if we knew the kiddies pool was closed. He duly went on his radio and arm bands were provided. Glad i took advantage of their special offer and not paid £1.60 more like i normally do. Also beware of various restrictions they impose if you are taking up the free child swim offer, according to the receptionist there are various permutations in respect of kids per adult per child age. i have had similar problems before with classes taking over the pool, running over their allotted time. The Neath pool is also the same. I think the manager must be a tall bloke, has a moustache and does funny walks and he used to run a hotel in Torquay.
