For anyone interested in wine, this is a Must Visit. It is very difficult to create any wine in such a mountainous area, but to create several different red wines takes some serious dedication.

This is a wine shop, however it is a part of the producer of some very interesting and good red wine. Production volumes are very low just a few thousand bottles per year. Finding them beyond the local community is not easy.

The shop sells wine from all over Italy and beyond, but serious buyers will be offered a tasting of the local production.

English is spoken here.

The little town is also beautiful. With lots of little streets and restaurants. Well worth a trip, some lunch and a chance to buy a truly rare wine

This place is not easy to find, it is in a side-street, about 5 minutes' walk from the old market square, a good 10 minutes from the station. Go on to Internet "Garrone Domossola" will suffice to find it, the website is in English and Italian, with a map. They stock local wines from the Ossola valley, also other regional products. The display is modern and attractive, the young man there was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, spoke excellent English. The prices are correct, considering these wines are not produced in enormous quantities. If you are just looking for "cheap plonk", don't bother with this place, there are supermarkets in town. But if you are interested in finding out something about the history of the region and trying authentic local wines, then you have to come here.
