Nel centro storico di Domodossola in provincia di Verbano-Cusio-Ossola nella regione del Piemonte, in Piazza Convenzione, il signorile Palazzo San Francesco che una famiglia importante del luogo fece edificare su di una chiesa, attualmente è utilizzato come museo.

Domenica molto interessante nel centro storico di Domodossola con visita della mostra sul futurismo.

Sono presenti parecchie opere di Giacomo Balla, vero protagonista di questa espressione pittorica. Le opere di Boccioni sono decisamente meno rappresentative, tuttavia in numero sufficiente. Poche le opere di Depero, così come degli altri autori.
Vale la pena di andare a Domodossola e contemplare alcune delle opere presenti, certamente notevoli.
Peccato avere notato scarsa conoscenza dell'ubicazione del Palazzo San Francesco, sede della mostra, da parte di più persone aventi una attività non lontana dal palazzo medesimo.
Rilevata mancanza totale(!!!) di pieghevoli illustrativi della mostra.

Palazza san francesco è una vecchia chiesa poi ristrutturata e sistemata in un palazzo ad un piano, di cui il piano terra interamente restaurato con magnifici affreschi ospita alcune mostre dell'amministrazione comunale
il piano primo è ancora in fase di restauro, mentre l'esterno è stato recentemente restituito all'antico splendore
aperto al pubblico in orario mostre. si trova nella zona pedonale di Domodossola

Anche se bussate nessuno vi apre....

Bellissimo palazzo restaurato dove trovare quadri di pittori ossolani. Peccato che rimane sempre chiuso, e raramente aperto. in altri paesi sarebbe una fonte di cultura, turismo e guadagno. invece tocca guardarlo da fuori. quindi non bussate perche' nessuno vi apre....speriamo in un futuro migliore.

Splendido esempio di recupero di un palazzo

In occasione di una bellissima mostra a tema “la figura femminile nell’arte (da non perdere assolutamente) abbiamo potuto ammirare questo antico convento, ancora decorato con affreschi trecenteschi (?) e molto ben restaurato.

Nella suggestiva zona vecchia di Domodossola c'è il bel Palazzo San Francesco dove vengono allestite mostre d' arte. L' ultima è stata quella intitolata "Nel segno delle donne" con molti bei dipinti di pittori del '900, che consiglio di visitare. Mi sono poi concesso un buon pranzo nel rinomato ristorante "Il divin porcello" del vicino paese Masera. Più che buono, ottimo! Ci tornerò.

Bella mostra, inusuale per la zona, con ricco catalogo e biglietto economicissimo. Facile accesso a piedi dopo aver parcheggiato anche alla stazione.

Attenzione agli orari, informazioni contraddittorie su internet, meglio telefonare.

Esposta anche un'ala dell'aeroplano di Chavez, tenuta assieme con listelli di legno fissati con chiodini, che coraggio!

Poche le opere di Depero, già poche a Rovereto.

Vale la pena anche solo per l'originale di Fornara per l'inaugurazione del traforo del Sempione.

Qu3sta ex chiesa è stata trasformata in una sala espositiva per mostre temporanee, sempre di buon livello. La visita rende ancor più interessante il soggiorno a Domodossola, una cittadina tutta da scoprire.

Per la mostra De Chirico e De Pisis

Il Palazzo è in realtà una duecentesca chiesa-museo, recentemente riconvertita per ospitare mostre. Particolarmente interessante quella di De Chirico e De Pisis (più il primo del secondo, a mio gusto personale) che ho potuto apprezzare grazie alla presentazione del curatore stesso della mostra, Antonio D'Amico. Iniziativa lodevole, quella della mostra, per portare linfa economica alla zona, grazie agli amanti dell'arte che visitano Domodossola.
