Colleoni glass factory invite you to visit us in Murano island. Under reservation will be possible to admire our glass master at work with a multilengual person of our staff that will explain at visitors the different steps and process of glass produccion. Our glass factory give you also the opportunity to make your own Murano glass object with easy level workshop of mosaic technique or with a large chooice of beads create your bracelet or necklace. Children and adults are welcome. Of course you can visit our show rooms and see our large chooice of glass items done by our masters and crafmans. HOW TO REACH US Stop at MURANO FARO you have line 4.1 and 7 from San Marco or line 3 from Piazzale Roma or Train Station. Get off and turn immediately to the right walking along the street next to the canal for 300 metres. Our entrance is on the street at number 12. Somebody confuse us with the glass factory before of us ELLEGI GLASS, if you ask them they will say they don't know us. That's perfect you are just 50 metres from us

The demonstration costs 10 EUR and takes maximum 10 minutes. Not a lot of information is provided.
On top of that, the workshop is chilling cold in the winter. Almost as cold as outside.
The shop is nice but very much overpriced. And if you want to buy any items not made of glass, do it in Venice, just walk away from San Marco. This shop will charge you double.
The exhibition is large and the staff are nice - that is why I am giving 2 stars instead of one.
On top of that, the workshop is chilling cold in the winter. Almost as cold as outside.

I spent a lot of money for a glass fish tank sculpture in October 2022. It is now January and I have not received the item. I signed the piece to be identified as authentic.
I am very concerned now that this operation is a scam. I hope the owners will fix the issue.

We visited Venice and took the quick ride over to Murano to see-- what else-- glass blowing. We didn't want a typical, main-street, tourist glass blowing experience, so a quick visit to Trip Advisor gave us a couple of good options and we headed out. Vetreria Artistica Colleoni was a great choice: off the main street, family owned, and a real FACTORY, not just a glass shop with one guy doing ongoing tourist demonstrations. We were met at the door by Barbara, one of the family members, who conducted around to the back to their glass blowing area. It was a really hot day, but fortunately, their demo is held just outside the main factory, under and awning, so it was a little bit cooler. The glass blowing Master was already working when we arrived, and Barbara described wonderfully in english what he was doing, what he had to do to learn the craft (start at 16, had been doing this for 40 years), and he began making a number of items to show us different techniques. One of the first he did was a glass decanter, which he made, then set aside--and as we watched him blow other items, it slowly began to crack up-- the reason they use cooling ovens to slowly cool items. He made a horse, then invited my wife up to "help" make a venetian fish (she said she didn't help much, but just held the tongs, while he moved them.
After that demo, Barbara walked us into the main factory, where the workers were making some glass items (we didn't stay-- it was pretty hot), then into the display/showroom. While they are certainly trying to sell you stuff, the amazing display of glass art was superb and while she was nearby to answer questions, we didn't feel a huge pressure to buy stuff. We did buy some items, as their prices were extremely reasonable, and Barbara wrapped them up to take home. We were skeptical about the survival of these in our luggage, but every item made it home intact-- including the glass horse we bought for our daughter! Viva Barbara and the entire family at Vetreria Artistica Colleoni for a fun experience

We very much enjoyed our trip to Murano and Burano.
The boat trip was great, a really good bunch of people and the two islands were lovely.
The glass blowing demonstration was really interesting and impressive. There is a bit of pressure to buy some glass with a few sales people circling around, but something you need to put up with.
Burano is a gorgeous town, the lace factory was a shop to watch a girl doing some stitching then upstairs to be shown more lace to buy. Again, to be expected but you don't have to succumb to them!.
We left quickly after the demo and spent time wandering around the streets (we went for our own lunch, rather than the group one at the restaurant the guide chose, following previous reviews!).
Overall, enjoy the trip, beware of the pressure to buy things, and enjoy the views!!

My third time visiting Murano and its colorful Glass making factories. The Master makes it look so easy always. After the Class, you get to visit some achieved and stunning Glass work. Absolutely beautiful and pleasing to the eye

The Colleoni Glass Factory was recomended by friends that visited Venice last year.
The visit inside the factory includes a demostration of blowing technic and we saw the masters creating a beautiful centretable with the murrina.
After that they proposed to our children a laboratory of glass beads..... absolutely incredible!!
My children made for me a bracelet and not just becouse they made it but the result was absolutely great.
The glass factory is easy to reach, just get off at Faro station (is the second of Murano) and walk for 250 metres on the left hand side, just walk on the waterside, the entrance is on the street, Fondamenta dei battuti N 12.
If you go to Venice don't miss it, the Moro's family is very friendly

We had been in Venice a couple of times before but never to Murano and Burano so when we had a day in Venice on a cruise we thought we would try this tour. What a tremendous experience! Our guide, Maria, was warm, engaging, patient, and obviously passionate about her adopted city. She met us right at the cruise terminal (no small feat!) and brought us to the waiting boat ... from that moment until we said goodbye in Piazza San Marco, our day just couldn't have been better. We learned and saw so much! One thing to know is that this tour is arranged by one of the glass factories on Murano and includes a demonstration and then a walk through the factory showroom; we did end up buying something wonderful but we never felt pressure and our time there was fascinating. Burano was quite surprising to us and we will definitely return to spend more time on our own on another trip. Between the ease of our own boat and the really tremendous guide Maria, we felt the money was worth every penny. A real highlight of our two-week trip!

Visited this Factory as part of a tour of Murano and Burano. The factory demonstration was interesting. Once the demonstration was completed, we were guided into their 'gallery' for shopping.
Inside their shopping gallery they keep on telling you not to take pictures as the items are 'trademarks'. We bought quiet a few items and spent over 800 Euros on a vase and a few other things. They also tell you that there is no 'TAX' (for Tax refund) as they are manufacturers with 'special industrial permits' - hence no Tax on the price (big blah blah!)
My wife and me found the exact same items ( EXACT!!) downtown Venice at 5x less in pricing.
Fazit - enjoy the demonstration and forget buying anything there as it is BY FAR cheaper downtown Venice than in their shop. Don't get fooled

Visit glass factory it was a fascinating experience. The guide had a perfect English and he explained us step by step the process of manipulating the glass. During our workshop time you can build your own memory from Murano: you can make earrings, a bracelet or a magnet. After the workshop you will visit the gallery and the shop where you can buy their production or simply admire the different maestros's styles.

After looking around for a place to view glass making, we ran into this great factory. Ludovico Moro was sitting outside and asked us if we wanted to see how glass products were made. He read our minds as that was exactly what we were looking for!
Ludovico invited us in and within minutes, his staff began to work. They asked for a volunteer and we volunteered our 16-year old daughter (smile). It was a great experience to witness how glass decorations are made. We loved their chandelliers; they have a great selection and we were told they can customize the size to suit our needs.
It was nice to meet Ludovico's Dad, Luigi, the owner of the factory. We also met Charco, their puppy who loved playing with our daughter. We left their place after having taken our picture with both Ludovico and Luigi. They are great people and treated us very well. Stop by to visit them when you are in Murano. You will not be disappointed. We were there in Summer of 2012 (July) and we are looking forward to visiting them again some day.

Si c sono dei vasi, dei vassoi e dei gioielli in vetro che con 20-30euro t puoi riportare a casa, poi c sono le lavorazioni in esposizione nelle prime 2 sale che sono veramente meravigliose

Buon giorno volevo chiedere se è possibile a Murano non solo ammirare i maestri del vetro ma anche provare a "soffiare" stesso un bollo di vetro, anche se devo pagare qualcosa in più.

We paid 15 Euros at one of the factory and that gives 15 Euros credit to buy anything at store. That place was pretty nice and we were lucky no one else was there at the time of show. So it was a kind of private show for us.
Second factory we paid 2 Euros each for the show and pay extra for any item you purchase.

We are visiting Venice today 23rd July, and plan to come to Murano by ourselves. Would it be possible to book for a demonstration this late or do we come and just do a tour of the factory. How long does the demonstration last and how much would it cost?

Hello,
I'm planning a weekend gateaway to Venice and definitely keen on visiting Murano and attending a glass making demonstration. Reading some of the reviews I'm a bit confused - is the Colleoni demo free or paid £10...? We'll definitely make our way to Murano on vaporetto, not a guided tour. Can we just turn up at the factory or would you guys recommend a paid booking...?!

I'm not sure how other factories/showrooms operate but at Colleoni you can just show up and pay at the door. Your receipt from purchasing the tour/demonstration acts as a $10-off coupon if you purchase a glass item from the showroom.

We have only a short time in Venice and we want to make sure we visit the Colleoni Glass Factory.
