On the way from Örebro to Nyköping we took a break and went to Eriksberg Castle. Unfortunately it was closed, but I walked around and looked at it, nice castle park was open so you could take a walk there.
It was a fine baroque castle, built in the 15th century.
All around it was very nice, it was close to the water, really nice place.

This slot/palace is wonderful and brings you back in time.
The building and the amazing gardens are well maintained. It is all situated at a beautiful place.
And the labyrinth is a joy for the children.

If you are in the neighborhood it is worth a visit.

I visited Ericsberg Castle for my job, a one-day workshop. The environment is inspiring and makes you aware of history at the same time. The castle is only 1.5 hours from Stockholm, 30 minutes from Stockholm Skavsta airport and 30 minutes from the city of Katrineholm. I had the pleasure to give a workshop in one of the old buildings, which the owners transformed in a modern small-scaled meeting point. We were with a group of 12; the maximum is about 60 persons. The arrangement was perfect: coffee on arrival – 1 hour before start – a sandwich and a very nice woman who made me feel at home. Though the building is old, the facilities are modern: multiple sockets for computers, perfect WIFI, multi-functional tables and a beamer with sound options. The only strange thing is that you have to go outside to go into another part of the building when you want to use the rest room. The rest rooms are modern, clean and wheel chair accessible.
The warm lunch was good. Cold water, multiple kind of drinks, coffee and tea and fresh fruit were available throughout the day.
After lunch, we joined for a short guided tour to have a look at the newly renovated rooms and the museum.
For certain a place I want to go back.

The atmosphere, interiors, exteriors, the park, the orangery, service, cafe, luxury store,
Perhaps most of all nice/restful/luxurious that no other tourists found here during our visit...
