As bridges go, this one's nice. It doesn't go anywhere exciting, but it's nice. You'll come across a rock formation shaped like a heart on Ikema Island, maybe have a sugar cane juice and then drive right back.

I drove there to Ikema island from Miyako, so beautiful the sceanary of the sea. It takes only 5 min on the bridge, but The bridge on the shallow is so good.

Some tourists haven't realized or just don't care that there's no emergency lane/turn-out. Instead, they'll just park their car wherever they want and expect you to go around them. This a wonderful piece of engineering as it conveniently connects Miyakojima with its small neighbouring island of Ikema. The views as you go across are spectacular - that crystal clear ocean a must take photograph.

It runs through the beautiful sea which shows a variety of colors from light emerald green to deep blue.

It's a beautiful bridge spanning two islands. It's worth crossing by foot, on bike, or by car. Then take a nice spin around the smaller island it connects to from Miyako.
