Great time cruising along the river with these guys. Fabulous food and saw plenty of Orang utans around the feeding stations. Boat had everything I needed and was great to sleep under the stars. Definitely recommend - my guide Febri was great

Our trip was organized by one of the tour operator in Borneo. The trip took 2N/3D, traveling by boat along the river, with several stops at Orang Utan feeding station. To reach feeding station, we walked around 20-30 min, where you can see monkeys, large ants, and other animals. Feeding stations were crowded with tourist, but it’s quite silent to let orang utan had their own time to enjoy their bananas😁. You can asks rangers or tour guide if you want to know more about orang utan’s habbit. Along the river sometimes you can see crocs, hornbill, long-nosed monkey. Amazing! At night, we slept on boat, very quiet and in the morning woke up with the sound of monkeys shouting each other😁. We’re lucky that when we’re walking to reach feeding station, 1 orang utan just passed in front of us, it’s very close, she just went to the trees with her baby. Pros: 1. You can enjoy nature and learn about orang utan and other animals in borneo, and how their population is in danger because deforestation 2. Boat was equipped with toilets, beds. Crew also prepared breakfast, lunch and dinner on boat. Snacks and soft drinks were availabe aswell 😁 3. Tour guide has extensive knowledge about the surroundings and animals habbit. Cons: No signal/very very weak signals along the trip. (This can be pros as well if you prefer to disconnect for a while😊) If you plan to go, pls bring: 1. Torchlight 2. Mosquitos repellent 3. Comfy shoes for trekking 4. Sunblock

I remembered when Pak Enno told me that my holiday would be unforgettable. True, I agreed with Pak Enno. So, my sister just came back to Indonesia and I had just graduated from the university and was looking for a place to travel. I was just googling about Orang utan and bumped into this trip, PT. Orang Utan Kalimantan. I decided to opened the website and see how interesting the tour is. So i contacted Pak Enno through email and whatsapp asking about the tour. Pak Enno is really nice and attentive, he’s quite fast respond espeically during the night. He even gave my family a city tours as well. Our guide during the trip were Mas Sopy and Mas Ridwan. Both of them are really nice, friendly and funny. We got along very well. At our last night, while waiting for the fireflies, we spent the night sitting at the dock and play uno cards and we just having fun together with the guide and boat crew. Bu Innu as the cook is the best, she always cook delicious foods for us. Overall, I was really satisfied with the services and I’m glad for choosing this tour.

Prior to arriving in Indonesia we had not been able to organise a tour to Kalimantan to see the Orangutans. Whilst in Lombok we came across a couple who had recently done a tour with Enno and had recommended this. All contact was via Whatsapp and Enno was very quick to reply to any messages. He advised a boat was not available but could look at doing tour with speedboat and overnight stay at an Eco Lodge. Whilst negotiating the price we had several conversations and calls via Whatsapp, some of which I felt he was a little abrupt but put down to the language barrier. We had to pay 50% deposit prior to the trip and the rest in cash on arrival. There were a few issues with this but I paid via Transferwise (the equivalent of Paypal) which he had suggested but appeared not to understand how it worked despite recommending to me. A few days before we confirmed the arrangements and Enno checked how many people were travelling, surely this should have already been clear. We were met at the airport upon arrival and taken by car to Tanjung Putting National Park Harbour where we were met by our 'speedboat' and driver. I was expecting a speedboat as in Europe but this was not what greeted us and not being a swimmer and having a fear of the ocean/water/drowning!! I was not looking forward to our trip. The second day is a full day but first day only activity is going to the feeding station around 3pm so if you are flying in and having a speedboat you do not need to get there until mid morning. Our flight got us in for 8:30am and we didn't do anything but relax at the Lodge. Time would have been better spent in Jakarta sleeping as we had to get up at 3am to get to the airport for the flight. Positives: - Enno appeared to be very knowledge and always asking if we wanted drinks and snacks - Good trip to the National Park and allowed as much times as we wanted at the feeding stations - Eco Lodge was nice and clean - Enno asked us what we would like for dinner and lunch (would have helped if gave us options of what we would have rather than just asking us. Chose nasi/mie goreng and both were lovely). - Sampled the local fruits Negatives - I had explained I was a nervous passenger and asked if driver could drive a little slower, he appeared to drive too fast especially when turning and going past other boats. Almost like a child racing his friends, whilst passing the bigger boats he would be in conversation with them. Despite asking several times he did not always slow down and I was advised there was a life jacket if I wanted it. That was not exactly helpful when also being advised there were crocodiles in the water and water was not exactly clean so if not at risk of drowning, death by crocodile then likely to catch some type of infection. Please note I am a seasoned traveller and aware that health and safety in some countries is different to that of Europe but as the customer I should be listened to rather than just laughed at. The driver was also constantly trying to take selfies of us all in the boat and then sending these to whoever as I could clearly see his phone again this is not behaviour I appreciated whilst driving quite fast. Happy to take whatever pictures once the boat had stopped. This was a real negative for me and every time we were in the boat left me wondering if this was going to be the time that it tipped over. Not good when you have paid for an expensive trip. For this reason I would have preferred a big boat as this travels at a leisurely pace. The time that we had in the National Park was great and we were lucky enough to see lots of Orangutans at the feeding stations and even lucky enough to have one walk past us as were leaving. Saw lots of Monkeys whilst in the boat and could stop and watch them. Again this was a positive as we were in a fast boat we were able to stop and take our time wherever we wanted. Overall this was a good trip but slightly marred for me by the attitude of the boat driver.

I was stranded for 8 days in a place i didn't know and with nothing to do. I booked a boat and crew from my phone and got to speak directly with Enno, the owner of the business directly. He is a wonderful and helpful person, He even let me crash at his sisters place the night before the tour because i had nowhere to stay. The tour I booked with Enno was by far the most memorable and amazing tour I have ever been on, which is saying a lot considering I have been touring Asia for two years now. The crew was spectacular and friendly, the food was terrific and the sights were mesmerizing. The prices were very fair as well. My only complaint is the fact that I am not rich enough to spend the rest of my life with these people. If anyone is considering taking a boat tour to see some orangutans (and have lots of fun with the locals), You will never find a more authentic, affordable and awesome tour than this one right here. It's perfect in every way.
