Agency is owned by a nice couple, Dessy and Arif. Guys speak really good English, communication about organizing with Dessy was attentive to details and fast. They have a few guides the work with, but we were lucky to have Arif himself as our tour guide - he had a biological degree and experience in work with orangutans, and he was obviously into wildlife! Boat crew tries to keep balance between taking care about guests and providing privacy, which is great. Orangutans are just awesome, saw many on stations and by the river!

Dessy was the most organized, transparent and responsive from everybody we dealt with, all over Indonesia. She is patient and a valuable in giving advice and helping planning. Arif, the guide on our boat, was very knowledgeable, a fantastic source of information and passionate a lot his animals and birds. A wonderful tour on a very clean boat with too much to eat. Thank you for a memorable journey.

From the very beginning Dessi was a great partner in helping us plan our visit. With covid restrictions just relaxed we were pretty unsure about booking a trip for a trip on some kind of boat up a swampy river in Borneo to say the least! Her quick, clear responses to all our queries were very reassuring. Nonetheless we were still not quite sure how it would actually work out, as we arrived dessi helped us out and into a car to the boat where we met Arif our guide and the crew of the boat, from that point on Arif was extremely informative as we cruised up a river. Having worked with the orangutan foundationa and at the national park his commitment to orangutan preservation was clear from the start. We highly recommend Orangautan Applause!

We've been 4N5D in the klotok, sailing the river. We did walks into the jungle and we see a lot of animals and plants in their own habitat. With Ariff, our guide, we learned a lot about monkeys, birds, and others animals, also of trees and insects. Their philosophy is to respect the animals habitat, and rehab that orangutans that need help to readapt their selves to the jungle, to replant the forest that has been burned or cut (because of the hunt or the plantations). Natural life friendly. The food was amazing. The boat and the crew too. Is one of the best experiences of our lives, to absolutely disconnect of the outside world, to connect with the natural world.

Our family had an incredible journey into the national forest with Orangutan Applause. We saw numerous orangutan at each of the feeding stations and along the river. Tons of proboscis monkeys and macaques, monitor lizards, a gharial, a super elusive western tarsier (night jungle walk!). And countless birds! Ibu Dessy organized everything perfectly and super responsive. The boat was comfortable, well-stocked, with good restroom and sleeping facilities. The cook was fantastic! Delicious fresh food and fun candle light dinners on the back deck. The highlight of the trip was our guide Pak Arif, whose knowledge of the forest was remarkable! He made sure we understood what we were seeing, knew just where to look for the animals, and always had his guidebooks handy for extra reference. Highly recommend!
