I went on a solo trip with Siti's Tour, it was fantastic. My crew (Captain, assistant captain, cook & tour guide) were brilliant. We had incredible encounters each day with the Orangutans. The food was local and lovely. I had the houseboat all to myself, which was wonderful, I could lie on the sunbeds as we travelled up the river. I spotted wild orangutans swinging in the trees along the river, Proboscis monkeys & monitor lizards from the boat. The crew were very attentive and responsive. I had a wonderful time.

The boat crew was aloof, not friendly. The guide did the bare minimum needed for the tour. I even had to ask the guide to introduce staff to me. She did not show me around the boat. She was not very communicative or good at informing me of the itinerary for the day. Her English comprehension was not good and it was exhausting trying to talk to her.

The boat was not reasonably equipped. There was no soap at the sink until I asked for soap. No soap was provided in the shower. One time when I went to the toilet, I discovered there was no toilet paper in there.

I had requested coffee with milk and clearly explained I did not want sweets for breakfast or other times. I was not provided milk but was provided sweet condensed milk. They did not provide sufficient milk but only one small can and so they ran out when I wanted more coffee. For such an expensive tour, I would expect more than one small container of milk to be provided for my coffee. Coffee for those who drink it is very important for waking up and enjoying the day.

I cannot tolerate cigarette smoke and made that very clear when booking the tour. It was confirmed there would be no smoking on the boat, but then someone smoked on the lower level of my boat on the last day.

I was highly irritated with the aloofness and numerous unexpected problems on the boat. What I experienced was very poor for such an expensive tour.

Hello there , Your complaining was unresoanable. First : you got cough when you arrived at airport, and we gave you the option to go to the hospital but you rejected . Second : our guide and team from the first met you said that you don't like female guide , but i didn't promise to you if you get our old guide before ,as our team has schedule. Third : Only in a minute, the soap and the toilet paper wasn't in a place , but whitout any ask from you , we put at the place. And you also have complaining with it . Fourth : our guide try to introduce the team ,but you said , you don't want waste the time and you need to go to the national park directly . From the first Arrived, our team felt if you rasis to our guide, as she is a woman . And you don't like it. I don't know what's wrong with you . Hopefully, your attitude could be fit in anywhere the place that you want visit. And you must learn , if in Kumai and pangkalan Bun, most of the population is muslim , and there isn't any fault if every muslim woman wear hijab . Best wishes, Siti

We booked a private Klotok tour with Siti. She was very quick with her response and went out of her way to organize everything. Unfortunately we had to cancel a few days before the tour because of personal circumstances. Siti agreed to refunding our down paymemt. Of course this would be minus the cost she had already made (for a permit and such). Unfortunatley she never repaid anything and stopped replying to our emails completely. We never received any refund while we did make a substancial down payment and Siti did agree to a refund in writing when we had to cancel.

Siti organized a 4-day trip for us. We had a wonderful time. We booked a deluxe boat w/ a private cabin and AC, and everything was exactly as advertised. We saw tons of wildlife: orangutans (both along the river and at feeding stations), proboscis monkeys, long-tail macaques, maroon langurs, crocodiles, lots of birds. Our guide was great and he and the other staff on the boat had a great eye for spotting wildlife.

The food was exceptional. The cook made 3 full meals a day + snacks, with each meal having 4-5 unique dishes. Our only complaint is that there was so much food that we couldn't eat it all and a lot went to waste.

It was rainy in the afternoons, but it's hard to complain about rain in a rainforest. Also gave us an opportunity to watch the orangutans build umbrellas out of leaves. Would definitely come back!

We took a 2 days 1 night boat private tour to Tanjung Puting National Park. We decided to take Siti's tour because in her webpage she states that is a company runned by women. The tour price paid was 9.2 Million rupias. We had prices starting from 7 Million and the average was 8 Million. We paid 1 Million more because when we travel we like to help the less powerful lyers of the societies (women, elder people and kids). Our surprise was that during the tour we didn't see any female staff worker. We met people (4 in the boat and 4 on land) and no one was a female! Furthermore we knew that in her company the balance is 5 females vs 20 males. We saw females guides, cookers and assistants in other companies. For us was a shock because to be a women company was the main purpose to hire an overpriced tour. I think they use the women stuff as an advertising claim. Also the boat is old and the baths were very dirty. I attach pica. There are newer boats in the area. You should ask how is the boat before book it.

Respecting to the tour everything was smooth the first day. The guide was very attentive and helpful. We had no pressure with the time when visiting the feeding platforms which was very fine. But the second day things changed. The guide was mute most of the time on land. In the boat he did not take so much care of us. He spend most of the time with the pilot and the boat assistant smoking and listening music. The three of them were in their 20, and for them the tour was a kind of having fun with the friends.

On the pros side the food was with no sortage. There were several dishes, everything well cooked. There were also desserts between meals. The cooker was a nice person and very helpful. Again, the meals were the best of the tour on board.

Hello Ray, Thank you so much for your reviews . But first just response your opinion. I'm a woman ,but all my staff isn't all woman, i run this bussiness many years, and some the guides, chef, and all the crews most men. Why are they young ? They decided to stop go to the school because of their family economic problems. That's their decision not my decision. I took them to have good work, than destroy the jungle, such as gold mining or work for palm oil company. If you just look if everything must woman, you wrong . And about the klotok, i give you private Classic standart as you requested. But if you compare the with the other klotok you wrong . I'm local and i always book the local boat not with all vacancy . If you wanna something vacancy that's must be stay at hotel . About the price you compare it again. Do you know how the low price paid the staff, and i paid my staff with all procedure from local government, never cheating the labors . I hope you understand, as we did as we can. And hopefully,if you go to local owner tour you must asking first not directly give them bad review. Best regard, Siti

My wife and I travelled to Borneo as the first leg of our Indonesian tour. All organised via WhatsApp with Siti and paid for via transferwise in advance. We were greeted at the airport by our guide Yuda and transported to the boat. All boats are very similar across all companies, basic toilet/ wash area, mattress with mosquito net, seating area at the front of the boat and under cabins for the crew. We sailed to three camps to see the Orangutans being fed, on each occasion we saw the alpha male as well as dozens of males, females and babies. Although we were roped off from the feeding area the Orangutans do not pay attention to this and could be seen at extremely close proximity! I would recommend this trip to those who love the wildlife, being off grid and are not afraid to go without western comforts for 3 days.

We booked three days and two nights in a private klotok with Classic Orangutan Klotok Tours - Siti's Tanjung Puting, but the experience was a disaster. From the start, Guide Zaky arrived late and cancelled the night trekking we had been promised. The next day, they made us change ships, and the new one was much worse: old, dirty and with a sloppy crew. The bed was disgusting and the facilities were deplorable.

During the second day, the Guide treated us with disdain, tried to avoid taking us to Camp Leaky saying that “there were no orangutans”, and barely explained anything. While other guides took care of their groups, Zaky smoked and spat throughout the journey. The last day we were woken up much earlier than agreed, we arrived at the port without time to prepare our things, and the Guide disappeared after an apology.

After complaining, Siti refunded us 170 euros, but the experience cost 510 and was a total disappointment. We felt ripped off and as if we had thrown away our money and time.

An unforgettable experience! Titi and the crew took great care of us. The food was fantastic!
Sleeping on the deck in the middle of the jungle is a special experience and well worth the money. Saw orangutans every day. Friendly rangers who guide us on our treks.
The klotok is equipped with all basic amenities, shower and toilet are fine.
