Siti is amazing. Very easy and fast communication via Whatsapp. She organized everything so we didn't have to worry about anything.
We got a pickup from the airport. She brought us to our hotel and picked us up the next day to start the tour. On our way to the boat we stopped at an authentic typical Dayak house. After that we went to the boat and met the crew.
They were great! Our guide Iyul was the nicest guy and we talked a lot during our 4 day tour. The chef made us amazing food everyday and the captian and the assistent made sure we got to all our stops in a save way and on time.
Really not negative to say about Siti ans this tour. If you want to go to Borneo and see the Orangutan Monkeys, go with Siti!!

Siti organized a 4-day trip for us. We had a wonderful time. We booked a deluxe boat w/ a private cabin and AC, and everything was exactly as advertised. We saw tons of wildlife: orangutans (both along the river and at feeding stations), proboscis monkeys, long-tail macaques, maroon langurs, crocodiles, lots of birds. Our guide was great and he and the other staff on the boat had a great eye for spotting wildlife.
The food was exceptional. The cook made 3 full meals a day + snacks, with each meal having 4-5 unique dishes. Our only complaint is that there was so much food that we couldn't eat it all and a lot went to waste.
It was rainy in the afternoons, but it's hard to complain about rain in a rainforest. Also gave us an opportunity to watch the orangutans build umbrellas out of leaves. Would definitely come back!

My wife and I travelled to Borneo as the first leg of our Indonesian tour. All organised via WhatsApp with Siti and paid for via transferwise in advance. We were greeted at the airport by our guide Yuda and transported to the boat. All boats are very similar across all companies, basic toilet/ wash area, mattress with mosquito net, seating area at the front of the boat and under cabins for the crew. We sailed to three camps to see the Orangutans being fed, on each occasion we saw the alpha male as well as dozens of males, females and babies. Although we were roped off from the feeding area the Orangutans do not pay attention to this and could be seen at extremely close proximity! I would recommend this trip to those who love the wildlife, being off grid and are not afraid to go without western comforts for 3 days.

We took a 2 days 1 night boat private tour to Tanjung Puting National Park. We decided to take Siti's tour because in her webpage she states that is a company runned by women. The tour price paid was 9.2 Million rupias. We had prices starting from 7 Million and the average was 8 Million. We paid 1 Million more because when we travel we like to help the less powerful lyers of the societies (women, elder people and kids). Our surprise was that during the tour we didn't see any female staff worker. We met people (4 in the boat and 4 on land) and no one was a female! Furthermore we knew that in her company the balance is 5 females vs 20 males. We saw females guides, cookers and assistants in other companies. For us was a shock because to be a women company was the main purpose to hire an overpriced tour. I think they use the women stuff as an advertising claim. Also the boat is old and the baths were very dirty. I attach pica. There are newer boats in the area. You should ask how is the boat before book it.
Respecting to the tour everything was smooth the first day. The guide was very attentive and helpful. We had no pressure with the time when visiting the feeding platforms which was very fine. But the second day things changed. The guide was mute most of the time on land. In the boat he did not take so much care of us. He spend most of the time with the pilot and the boat assistant smoking and listening music. The three of them were in their 20, and for them the tour was a kind of having fun with the friends.
On the pros side the food was with no sortage. There were several dishes, everything well cooked. There were also desserts between meals. The cooker was a nice person and very helpful. Again, the meals were the best of the tour on board.

Hello Ray,
Thank you so much for your reviews . But first just response your opinion. I'm a woman ,but all my staff isn't all woman, i run this bussiness many years, and some the guides, chef, and all the crews most men. Why are they young ? They decided to stop go to the school because of their family economic problems. That's their decision not my decision. I took them to have good work, than destroy the jungle, such as gold mining or work for palm oil company. If you just look if everything must woman, you wrong . And about the klotok, i give you private Classic standart as you requested. But if you compare the with the other klotok you wrong . I'm local and i always book the local boat not with all vacancy . If you wanna something vacancy that's must be stay at hotel . About the price you compare it again. Do you know how the low price paid the staff, and i paid my staff with all procedure from local government, never cheating the labors . I hope you understand, as we did as we can. And hopefully,if you go to local owner tour you must asking first not directly give them bad review.
Best regard,
Siti

I was looking for a trip to NP Tanjung Puting on the klotok boat. I wrote to a few providers but no one found a place for me as a solo traveller. Then I found Siti :) She organized a trip for me (3 days, 2 nights) that was unforgettable!
Really good organization, wonderful crew (with a very good chef), the guide Nisa knew everything I was interested in and much more.
The Sekonyer river is so beautiful, reflecting the clouds and beautiful scenery. In the growth around it, I saw monkeys several times - macaques, long-nosed monkeys (proboscis), even a gibbon. And all those sounds of the jungle, especially at night. Living on the boat is truly an amazing experience!
The essential thing about this trip was orangutan watching. Seeing them so close up really made a strong impression on me.
I can say that the Tanjung Puting trip was the most memorable experience in Indonesia!
Siti, thank you for this and Nisa, you've contributed a lot!
Very grateful for the binoculars :)

The boats are dirty. It is impossible to use the WC because It is very disgusting. The linens for sleeping are dirty. They smelt very bad. The boats are very old also and not well maintained.
They use very young people (in their 20). The captain, the guide and the assistants all three were under 30. They spent most of the time singing, having fun and smoking in the control cabin.
On the other side the food was delicious. There were plenty of food with different dishes. The cookers was also a very nice person and very helpful.

Hello Patricia,
I think you're part of Ray . If you give this review for us whitout asking anything and just compare because of the tour money higher than other company. You're wrong.
As we don't know your opinion, too many reason that unlogic .
I hope you always get vacancy tour not local tour .

Siti organized a four day tour for us. Starting with a day tour in Pangalan Bun after which we took a speed boat to Rimba Lodge where we spend the first night. The second day our house boat (Klotok) picked us up from the Lodge and we started our two night and three day tour on the boat.
The boat was clean and our captain, the boat assistant the cook and our guide where all friendly and professional. We saw a lot of orangutans, proboscis monkeys, gibbons, birds and even a crocodile. The food was great and plenty. It was wonderful to sleep outside under the mosquito net.
Siti was also very helpful and checked that our return flights (which we had booked ourselves) were not changed /cancelled. After covid there are frequent flight cancellations and changes of timetable, which makes traveling a bit difficult.
I would highly recommend Siti.
You can check our video on our tour (including a tour of the boat) from Youtube: Susa and Masa around the world.

Booked a 2N/3D Klotok tour through Tanjung Puting followed by a day drip to Tanjung Keluang and Kubu Beach. For the day trip we booked the hotel ourselves to stay in central Pangkalbun, at Hotel Bahagia, recommended by Mbak Siti.
The Klotok trip was great - much better than I had ever anticipated. The conditions of the klotok were clean and it was very comfortable. The food was the best we've ever had in Indonesia and we were never left hungry. Our tour guide, Dedy Bintang, was also amazing. He was very knowledgeable, friendly, professional and spoke perfect English.
We saw plenty of organ-utan and other wildlife, which Dedy was always spotting and able to give us information about them. It was also nice and relaxing in the evening, parked up on the quiet riverside listening to the wildlife. (n.b - if you are concerned about this keeping you up at night, it won't as earplugs fully block the sounds).
Would recommend this tour to anybody wishing to spend 4 days in Kalimantan and wants to get the most out of it. Thank you Mbak Siti, Mas Dedy and their team.
Terima Kasih

We just came back from a 3D/2N klotok tour to the Tanjung Puting National Park.
We did not book any tour in advance. When we got to Kumai (the town where most tours start), we spoke to some tour organizations by phone and e-mail. The owner of the Hotel where we stayed (Majid Hotel), offers klotok packages for 3.5 million rupiahs per person on a shared boat. Because she was fully booked those days we could not do this tour with her. After some research we found Siti's tour: we could start the next day for the same price. We found out that Siti is family of the owner of Majid Hotel: they kind of work together/share boats.
Comparing tourorganisations is difficult. It appears that many organizations work together, or offer tours under different company names but they have the same 'owner'. Though, we could not find any cheaper options and we read positive reviews about Siti's tour, so we booked the 3D/2N package.
A driver picked us at 10.30 from our hotel to drive us 1 kilometer to the klotok boat. The klotok boat looks beautiful: it's very cozy, on the upper deck there are 3 mattresses with musquito nets, and the deck below offers a big table, hammocks, a toilet and shower. On the boat, one Spanish couple was already waiting. We had to wait for another Spanish couple. They arrived at 11.10 at the airport, so before they got there we had to wait a long time. We left at 1 o'clock by boat (so actually we missed the whole morning on the first day).
Once we got on the boat, we spoke to the other couples. They both said that they booked a 'private' boat, in stead of a shared one. Siti told them that there were some problems with the private boats, but they did not fully trust this story, since they booked the private boat long time in advance. Also, it is better business for an organization to rent out shared boats in stead of private.
One of the couples managed to get a private boat later that day: unfortunately to arrange this, we again had to wait a while.
During the tour we visited 3 feeding stations where we could spot the Orang Utans. The national park is beautiful: the deeper we sailed, the smaller the river got. We saw plenty of Orang Utangs, Dutch monkeys, gibbons, makaken, etc. Also some beautiful sunrises/-sets. The moment that Orang Utans get feed are like a theater show. In a good way because the Orang Utans are looking funny and acting funny, while eating or playing together. In a bad way because it's busy: there's heaps of tourists at the feeding stations at the same time.
The crew on our boat was great. Our guide spoke English very well, and had lots of experience working with Orang Utans. He was not the pro-active type of guide, but if we asked him questions he could give clear answers and tell a lot about animals, nature, etc. The rest of the crew took care of us in different ways, like setting up our beds/mosquito nets every night, serving drinks/dinner, etc. The food and snacks were delicious! :-)
The boat was very nice and cozy, but we had a lot of technical problems which made us wait often a long time. First we had a problem with the cooling system, I think we stopped the boat for nearly 1,5 hour to fix this. Then we had a problem with the shower. Again we waited about one hour. And finally we had a problem with the engine. The boat was full of smoke. I think we waited again 2 hours before it got fixed.
So, just to sum things up:
Things we liked about Siti's tour: Siti respond quick on our messages. She was willing to come to our hotel to talk about the tour. The klotok boat looks great and cozy, and the crew is very nice and do their best to make you feel happy and comfortable. Our guide spoke English very well and was very experienced on working with Orang Utans.
Things we did not like about Siti's tour: we think that the 3.5M rupiahs each is too much for the actual time you have on the boat. It is not really 3D/2N but actually 1,5 day/2N. The first day we left on 1PM, the last day we arrived at 8.15AM. It is a big business: the day we got back, the boat was again used for new tourists. There were many problems with the boat, which made us wait very often and a long time before it got fixed.

This is a difficult review to write because overall, it's a really good experience, and I enjoyed spending time with our guide.
I'm giving Siti's Tanjung Puting Orangutan Tours a poor rating because of the very rough start to our tour. We were picked up at the airport by a representative to the company who asked us to pay in full for the trip which we did (so far, so good, we'd paid a deposit beforehand and knew we would be paying as soon as we landed).
We were then taken to Kumai to meet Siti. She is very personable and interesting to talk to and she gave us a lunch. She didn't however, tell us what to expect on our tour. We were told we needed to pay for a fast boat (IDR 400,000) to our first lodging - an expense that we did not expect and were never told we would have. This posed a problem because we had carefully planned our last IDR since we would soon be leaving the country - we had to find an ATM in Kumai.
She said we would be picked up at our lodging along the river the following day BUT could not tell us when other than that it would be before (around?) noon - she said it was a "big boat" and that they couldn't give us an exact time because of river currents (an inventive way to avoid telling us the truth, as we found out the next day).
Because we did not know when our boat would arrive, it made it difficult to do anything the next day - we were confined to sitting, sweating in the intense heat and waiting, we thought, until noon, but noon came and went. Eventually a big boat did arrive sometime after 1pm - with three other tourists aboard - NOT our boat, because we paid for a private boat.
We were told that we would have lunch with them (I felt bad because I'm sure they paid for a private tour) and that our boat would arrive at 2pm. By this time, we didn't trust anything anyone was saying but we had no choice but go on board and it was becoming very clear that the boat would not arrive by 2pm. When it was nearing the time for the first feeding, we were still moored away from the feeding station, waiting for our boat. I knew that if we arrived to the feeding station late, we would be at the very back of the crowd - I did not want that to happen to the nice family whose boat we were sharing - it wasn't fair to them that because we didn't have the private boat THAT WE PAID FOR, they would have a lesser experience. I told their guide I would rather we go to the feeding station than continue to wait - which turned out to be the best considering we did not get our boat until after dark - past 6pm.
I loved the boat experience overall and it was fun seeing the orangutans. The boat was OK - not the fanciest we saw but not the most basic.
We also went on a night walk - but only because I asked for one - otherwise, we would not have had one. I also had told Siti that I'm vegetarian but she had not given this information to the crew on the boat - not a big problem but it shows the lack of communication.
It was also frustrating to see proboscis monkeys on the sides of the river and just cruising on by them without stopping - I thought the idea was to explore nature on the boat, not just use it to get from place to place.
As others have mentioned in their review, the itinerary shows that on the 3rd day we would be able to visit the village and plant a tree - this did not happen. Our guide was told to drop us off at our lodging by 8am which is what they did.
In fairness to Siti, she did offer a Pangkalan Bun city tour to fill the long day after being dropped off at 8am and we really enjoyed the day and I recommend it.
We took the Tanjung Keluang Turtle Release Station tour through Siti the following day - a bit frightening to go in a tiny boat in a very big body of water that leads into the Java sea - but we survived and got to release adorable turtles into the sea.
The final day was a fast boat ride again, for and additional IDR 400,000, to get to Kumai, and then the airport.
I wish Siti would have been more communicative to tell us what was happening. If we had known she did not have a boat for us, we could have planned around it instead of sitting and waiting.
Tips:
Do not stay in lodging before the tour - ask to go directly from the airport to your klotok boat.
If you go with Siti (or anyone, really), ask questions beforehand and if the answer is not clear, ask again.

Hi Siti. I have been reading the reviews about your tours which sounds excellent! I read about the 2 day / 1 night tour on some of the other guests reviews, but I cannot find a 1 night tour option online. Are there any available on the 7-9 March? I will be in Jakarta for work, but with little time to take vacation. However, if possible I would love to take a 1 night tour with you. I would be comfortable to share with other guests if that is a better option for you. Is there a number I can use to contact you on WhatsApp to discuss further? Thank you, John

You need to contact siti's orangutan tours. I was not able to join a group, and paid $400 USD for the private tour which was well worth it.
