Nice place for getaway and snorkeling
Jun 2018 • Family
It was 3 hours from Jayapura by car. First I arrived at Tablanusu Village. This village has uniqueness where coral stones covers the entire village. It was a natural stones.
From here we rent a boat and our first destination was Ame Yefa Beach or more known as Rusian Beach since many Rusian frequently come to this beach. It was about 30 minutes by boat. The beach was really natural and hidden. Near the beach there was snorkeling spots.
Then we continued to the Harlem Beach. It was about 15 minutes by boat from Rusian Beach. This beach visited by more people and there were some huts and stalls. There was also snorkeling spots near the beach.
These spots is really good for getaway.

A beautiful beach
Jul 2018 • Friends
It s a bit of a mission to get to, especially now that there are road works, but it is worth it. It s a beautiful beach reachable by boat from Depapre. I recommend a visit. also check out another beach close by. I dont know the name of it but it faces north on the other side of the hill from Harlem.

Palm trees, white sands and corral reef

Wonderful beach to snorkel, swim and relax. Avoid coming on weekends, as it gets crowded (for Papuan standards that is...more than 25 people?). During weekdays you have the place to yourself. Go to Depapre harbor, and rent a boat. It is a bit expensive (450,000 for drop-off and pick up), and also the pondoks on the beach have to be paid (150,000 per pondok/hut). Make sure to bring food and drinks as there are no warungs or cafes, and also make sure to bring back your garbage as there is NO garbage system!

Harlem/Harlen (local dialek) it is the name of beach in district of depapre about 60 km from downtown Jayapura.
From Jayapura, you can rent a car (apprx. Rp.500.000,- to 600.000 incl a driver) and stop at Depapre Port.
This place can only reach by boat.
You can rent a boat for 400.000 - 500.000 rupiahs which can carry up to 10 passenger.
It will takes about 15 minutes from depapre to Harlem.

Many have said that this is the most beautiful beach in Jayapura. The location is a bit isolated and the beach has therefore not been visited by many. You will feel here you are having fun on your own private beach.

You want to see Indonesians walking all over coral reef and breaking bits off to take home?
Don't go. The next bay around to the north is way nicer.

Harlem Beach is only accessible by sea. You need to go to Depepre Pier first, 48 km west from Jayapura or 22 km from Sentani About 2 hours from Sentani Airport. . Here you can get a boat to Harlem Beach which will take only 15 minutes. You can rent a boat (it would need to wait to get you back again too) for IDR 300,000 - 400,000 which can carry approximately up to 10 passengers.
Harlem Beach
Introduction
The eastern side of Indonesia is known well for its fascinating nautical highlight, especially the eastern most island of Indonesia. If you're visiting Jayapura, don't forget to visit this beach, Harlem Beach. It's in Tablanusu village, Depepre district, Papua Province.

Many have said that this is the most beautiful beach in Jayapura. The location is a bit isolated and the beach has therefore not been visited by many. You will feel here you are having fun on your own private beach.

It's a white sandy beach with clear water and beautiful gradation. The waves are small as the beach is located in a bay, making it good place for swimming and snorkeling. You can see corals, fishes, and other sea animals while snorkeling. You don't have to go far out into the see these beauties as there are many who live close to the beach line.

Indulge yourself with breathtaking view

I found that this beach is the best place I visited during my Jayapura trip.

To reach here, you need to drive about 2 hours heading to west of Jayapura or Tablanusu district. The road was not that good, small road and a bit bumpy. Once you get to Tablanusu dock, hire a boat to Harlem Beach. About 15mins of boat ride, you'll get these virgin beach.

We came there on the weekday, so it was like our private island since nobody there except local people who rent their hut. If you there, try to get to top of the hill behind beach. You'll find better view of whole Tablanusu area from higher point. Local people said there is a ruined body of airplane from world war 2 in the hill. However we haven't have a chance to explore since we dont have so much time.
