Hi I'm very interested to know how the staff and the business operators of Raja Ampat are engaged with the conservation of the nature, ensuring that their operations do not harm their environment and spoilt the nature.
I think is on their interest to preserve their ecosystems, but how it is done in the practice?
Is Raja Ampat growing as a touristic destination and at the same time being respectful wih its nature?
If you provide me your contact I will be very grateful to call you or email you and exchange some thoughts about these issues.
Thank you very much for your clarifications.
Best regards,
Sara
Sadly like most things in Indonesia, once it is outside ones front door it’s somebodies else’s problem, nobody picks or collects any plastic that is washed or dropped in the street, beach or other , most ends up in the drains which flood and become blocked with plastic mainly water bottles
Plastic is the dominant issue , but without education, collection services, policy and mandated action RA will be a plastic mess like most of the rest of Indonesia.
There is a national park fee for RA of a million rupiah per person 30% is used for administration, but nobody knows what happens with the remaining 70%.
See RA while it is still pristine, take your own drink bottle and refill, it is a beautiful place.
