It was pleasure time to come here. See the view and enjoy the silent place in the high place but it made me sad because there was so much rubbish every where.

We were dissapointed. There is not much to see. If you don't have a lot of time in Tomohon I would definitely skip this. The Lonely Planet says you can walk around the crater. We started our walk, but the grass and plants next to...More

This is a very accessible attraction in terms of how long it takes to reach. You can drive to a staircase that takes barely 5 minutes to climb, however the staircase is quite slippery when it has been raining (often). Make sure you climb on...More

Mahawu volcano is one of the active volcanoes you can find on the Tondano Caldera. Famous place for bird watchers. In the dense forest we could observe 15 different species in 3 hours: Sulawesi Blue Flycatcher, Turquoise Flycatcher ssp. septentrionalis, Eyebrowed Thrush, Mountain white-eye, Sulawesi...More

One follows a paved road from Tomohon via Rurukan, this one is the most popular as you can get very close to the crater on the motorcycle. For this reason, it was packed by young people. The other trail is lightly used as it follows...More
