Visited Mt Emei few times. Lai Dong Ping was always covered with cloud and mist. Visibility was low, and it was pretty cold too, during early April. We had to pass by this place on our hike from Qingyin Pavilion up to the Golden Summit. While most of the hike was very enjoyable, the section from Leidongping to the Golden Summit was a madhouse. It's a halfway point. In winter time, this is the entry to the ski resort. So, for other seasons of the year, it's simply where the bus drops off passengers, with a few cheap & ill-equipped hotels and restaurants to provide services that are found wanting. Absolutely pointless destination:(

If you have come up by bus, this is where you get the cablecar. It was an attractive mid-level place where one could spend the night. I only walked around a while before going on up to Jinding. Coats are available for rent here if you didn't dress warmly enough.
