We went on a 2 days trek on Emei mt. and stayed in Xianfeng the first night. The temple is a fine place to rest and sleep for one night. You can by food in the temples small restaurant and nearby the temple you can also by a few snacks like snickers and soda. We stayed there in November and in the night time it got really cold. luckily there was a heating device in the bed so we did not frees at all when we went to bed. Though I will still recommend to bring lots of warm clothes.

Given it is a four hour hike in either direction the temple was in pretty good shape. A private double room without private bathroom was 240rmb. Room was shabby, but had a window (some of the dorm rooms appeared not to). The temple before this one was cheaper and nicer but we opted to get a few more kilometers under our belts. Food was a pretty god deal, for 25rmb we got all we could eat I spicy cabbage, boiled pumpkin, lovely long beans, rice and cabbage soup. If you have a hankering for meat there is a small eatery at the foot of the temple. Bathrooms were fairly clean squat toilets. The courtyard was idyllic. It was way overpriced for the grubby room, but the next temple was another 3 hours of walking, so not much we could do. That being said, there were no bugs or vermin.
