We stopped by for a tasting and we weren’t disappointed! The tasting doesn’t cost, but I think the expectation is that you buy a bottle... we brought 2 for €11.50
The wines here are excellent and incredibly well priced. We rode our bikes from Amboise to here as it’s about a 10min cycle outside of the city. Next time I’d like to do the tour, but the tasting is excellent in any case.

I cannot say enough good things about this winery! We picked this winery on a whim given its location was convenient that day. Our guide (unfortunately I can't remember his name!) was a part of the family. He was young but very knowledgeable. He taught us about their processes in an interesting and entertaining way. We were able to see the process from start to finish! We also had a wine tasting. We enjoyed the wines so much that we had a difficult time deciding which ones to ship back home to the US. We ultimately purchased 24 bottles and were gifted 2 bottles to carry out with us that evening. Their Heritage wines are top notch. I would specifically highly recommend those. We are anxiously awaiting the delivery of the bottles we shipped home and will surely savor them once they arrive.

Visited on the way back from Italy. Was warmly welcomed by the owner. Can’t recall his name, sorry. What a beautiful place and the most amazing wine. Very accommodating for all tastes. We didn’t have much space in the car but packed as much as we could in. Can’t wait to return one day.

We just happened to be in Amboise whilst staying in the Loire Valley and decided to check out a winery.
This one was great! It is family run and has been for centuries- passed down from father to son. I asked what happens if daughters are born instead of sons and was cheekily told that a new wife would be sought.
One of the sons (with good English) took us on a private brief but informative tour as soon as we showed up. There was already a coach group doing tastings but he was immediately available to attend to our needs.
We saw the caves and it was clearly explained and demonstrated about the fermentation and storage of different types of wines. We also saw the bottling process and the machines where the expelling of gases is done! Very interesting and a great follow up from our Möet & Chandon tour in Épernay. Their range includes reds, whites, rosés and sparkling- something for everyone. At least 7 tastings and ALL FREE! The bottles aren't sold commercially as they have so many private customers. To buy some bottles whist on tour costs @ €7 - £9 only!! Highly recommend a visit if you're nearby.
Ps You can also visit their vineyard but we opted out as it was raining at the time

Stopped here and had a very nice tour guided by a 24 generation family member. Our guide , even though he didn't think so, did very well with information in English. Everything was free, including the tasting room. Tried a few whites, rose' and reds, then purchased a few bottles. Wines are not exported to the US and would be much more expensive in the USA. Not rushed and did I mention, it was Free?

Three of us showed up and were treated like royalty. Merlin, who gave us a personal tour, and tasting, was fabulous. We were provided with as many tastings as we desired, with no pressure to purchase. He gave a great tour of the caves and other inside info on the whole wine-making process.

We saw the wine cellar cut into the rock wall (cliff) as we were driving by from Chambord back to Tours. We came back the next day to investigate. We were told we could have a tour anytime, for free, and have a free tasting afterwards. Merlin gave us a great tour. It was informative and fun. The Milady was the only wine we tasted. Unfortunately, could only buy one bottle; but we enjoyed it immensely that night in the hotel. We wished we had time to wander in the vineyard... so much to see and so little time.

We went here on the way back to Amboise from visiting Chateau's for the day based on the TA reviews. When we arrived there was no less than 4 tourist buses out front and on entering the premises there would have been close to 100 people fighting over a position for a tasting. Needless to say we walked straight out and would never return. It is not the personal experience described by others, it is a horrible cattle crush that I would recommend everyone stay well clear of.

If you had your fill for the day visiting Amboise or the castles of the Loire Valley, touring the Wine Caves of Plou et Fils could be the perfect finishing activity before dinner. Or educational and entertaining at any other time. This winery has been around for generations producing many different wines, including sparkling wines. Our group's visit was pre-arranged, and we were first met by a friendly black giant of a dog and a young woman, who spoke good English. She then led us into the cool caves past large wood barrels and many stored bottles to explain the wine-making and bottling processes and the factors affecting wine storage. What I also liked was that from the machine sounds, clanking of moving equipment, and men’s voices in the neighboring caves we passed, I could sense this was an active work place, not just a wine cellar. The interesting 30 min tour ended in a simple tasting room, where on a counter an impressive line of glasses was set up for us. Several ample cheese and smoked meat plates arrived soon after. The free and generous wine sampling was done in a casual and friendly but systematic manner with plenty of time to share opinions and select other wines to try, clearing in between with bread and the other edibles. I can’t recall for certain how many wines we sampled, but it was surprisingly many, I think all under 10 euros. Instead of discarding the wines after every taste I began to sip those I liked enough, which made it harder to make a choice later. Fortunately, I was not driving. But don’t forget, the legal alcohol limit for driving in France is .05%. Incidentally, the rather pricey silicone bottle stoppers, potential colorful mementos of your visit, might work for bottles of sparkling wines, but I found them too loose for securely sealing opened wine bottles. Overall, it was a memorable, fun experience.

The visit was free:) the tour was not very long, but informative of semi large scale production of wines and sparkling wines. They were generous with free wine tasting and the bottles of wine are cheap :)
