Easy parking off peak. Toilet in the carpark and a very short walk of a couple of hundred metres to Squeaky Beach. Yes the sand does squeak. While unique here in Victoria, many fine white sand beaches in Queensland also squeak. This walk was done easily with my 86 year old friend and was a highlight of our day trip down into the park. Many attractions here are not possible to visit with mobility impaired or less mobile and it was great we got parking so she could see this wonderful beach. There were some surfers. Don't swim here unless you are a wild surf beach expert. We did notice some trash...outrageous in such a prisitine place. Please do not litter and if you see any please pick it up like we did.

Went with family. A short walk to the beach from the car park. Best to cross to the main beach closer to the rocks. The sand is pure white and feels like talcum powder. The beach definitely squeaks. A memorable experience.

The sand does indeed squeak! It's also a lovely and spacious beach that I wish I'd had more time to spend on. Plenty of shade available under the trees as well. Car park is spacious and drop toilets without soap or water are available. Will definitely come here with my beach chair on my next visit.

We were there on a a clear day and a cloudy day. A great location for a walk, picnic and a swim. As you walk into the beach the feet are squeaking....awesome. We grabbed a seat on a rock and listened to the waves rolled in! A go to place!

It’s about 2 - 3 hours return walk from Tidal River (crossing over the footbridge). Easier if you drove closer, but the walk from Tidal River is spectacular. Lovely natives and we were lovely to see a wombat and black wallaby.

long and wide beach (at low tide), easy to access from the parking lot (ca 3-400m walk), some big boulders placed on its right side for increased photographic attractiveness. late afternoon is great for pictures. great place for a swim if the weather allows it

When we were in Gippsland area we took a private boat tour from Port Welshpool to see the most interesting beaches. Other way it would take a lot of time. One of famous beach there is squeaky beach. When we walked there I understood why it is called so. Every step when you walking on the sand make a noise like squeak-squeak.
Very nice place which includes mix of sand, huge stones and trees.
Unbelievable beautiful nature.

The view as you walk in to Squeaky Beach at sunset is amazing, particularly if the surf is a little rough... sit on the rocks and take in the view...just perfect

Yes, the sand really does squeak!! We were caught a few times doing the "squeaky dance" making the sand chirp! Squeaky Beach (in Wilsons Promontory National Park) is one the of the few places on the east coast of Australia where you can see the sunset over the ocean. Beautiful spot. You can either do the short walk straight to the beach from the car park or take the longer route over the headland from Tidal River. We went back at sunset and were the only people on the beach, and saw a wombat on the sand on our walk out, a special memory!
