5 km run from Bhimtal
Feb 2019 • Friends
A beautiful hill, located just 5 km from Bhimtal gets its name from the Hidimba, wife of Bhima of Mahabharata.

This hill also houses a wildlife asylum called Vankhandi Ashram, a habitat developed by Vankhnadi Maharaj, an environmentalist and monk who lives there.

The hillock has been named after a demon called Hidimba, the wife of Bheema one of the Pandava brothers from the famous mythological tale called Mahabharata.

Difficult trek
Jul 2017 • Friends
The trek is not very popular...the way up is very steep, and the place is not worth the effort ...it is so full of monkeys that you cannot afford to sit even for 2 minutes without a scare.
