The Museum of Folk Culture of Bhimtal is also known as Lok Sanskriti Sangrahalaya. The visitors can see some precious artefacts along with a huge collection of photographs. Various archaeological items and rock arts are also exhibited in the museum, which was founded with the sole aim to preserve the rich culture of Uttarakhand. Tourists can also see folk paintings, wooden artefacts, ancient manuscripts, images of god and goddesses, agricultural implements and costumes

Dr Suresh Mathpal's Museaum and Art Gallery in Bhimtal is a must visit place, though not many people seem to know about it. Dr Mathpal has painstakingly collected artifacts from all over Kumaon and set up a phenomenal gallery of them. The second gallery is unique, where he has recreated a large number of cave paintings from all over India. A must visit if you are in Bhimtal.
