On our way from Orchha to Khajuraho, we stopped here on our driver's insistence. The fort is built on a hillock & apparently has a great view of a lake. We started going inside but two aspects stalled us. It seemed to be a steep climb.
& there seemed to be too many people inside who weren't tourists. Young men stood inside gaping at us. We did not feel safe going inside. When we asked the security guard about it, he said they were the caretakers.
Difficult to believe a place would have 10-15 caretakers.

Situated on a small hill top , this amusing fort was build by the king of Orcha , Raja Udit Narayan Singh in 18 th century . Its about 22 km. from jhansi on the Jhansi-khajuraho highway and just one km. from the main road on the right side and can be reached very easily by a motorable road . There is a vast lake attached to the fort , called Baruasagar Taal. As we climb the first floor of the fort, there is a huge terrace and open space on the middle of the roof. There is a palace also known as Panch Mahal. There is a temple on the left side of the main entrance. There is no entry fee for visiting this ancient monument. While going to Baruasagar fort and lake , there is a rare , ancient temple "Jarai Ka Math" with very fine and wonderful stone carvings which is of Khajuraho period (9 th century), is a worth seeing monument.

I have seen this fort 5 times or more, and is completely in love with this place. If you feel good away from the city noise and crowd of people, then you should go here. Being built on the hill, this fort is at some elevation and will refresh you with pure air. Seeing the fort with the background music of bird tweet, it will be a life-long remembrance.

Though the place is backed by lost of history, it is not well maintained. Located 30 minutes drive from Jhansi city.

Baruasagar fort is situated on the banks of baruasagar lake. This fort is not worth a visit as many villagers & young lads roam around this place with bad intentions. Definitely not worth a visit with family

Barua sagar fort is not very good at first from the jhansi fort. It is an ancient fort that looks beautiful and wonderful but can not be stopped here for a long time. Can't chill with relatives and friends.

The view of sagar is beautiful. But there is nothing to do there. It will take 15 minutes to cover everything.
