This man made beautiful lake is the most lively and happening place in Abu. Esp in evenings the weather is too good and area buzzing with tourists. Boating is a bit expensive (800 for 4 person pedal boat, 1200 for 4 person with rowing boat all for 30 mins). Didnt get the logic of having to pay 5/jacket and why its not covered in the ticket price. surrounding the lake is a 3 km parikrama marg to walk around the lake.Area is full of icecream shops, eatries, restaurants etc. One can stay here and do shopping late till 9-9:30 PM. Abu's small Main market is 500 meters from Nakki lake.Hand driven small trolleys are available for taking elders/kids to near by areas for 100-200 Rs.

The lake is very beautiful with the hills in the background, people come here along with their families and friends. You can do morning walk or evening walk around the lake or simply sit on the bench and relax in the peaceful environment. Boating facility is available for those who are interested. Toad Rock can also be seen from here. There are many food stalls, restaurants and gift shops nearby. The place becomes a bit crowded in the evening. Vehicle parking is not allowed near the lake.

It is such an amazing natural place however when we went towards the side where " I love Mt.Abu " is installed such a dirty smell that we couldn't stand there for more than a minute
The corporation who is looking after this must look and get the lake cleaned. It was such an awful site to see. No Dustbins installed and Humans are most dangerous creatures. They eat and throw the garbage ever where, making this amazing place so dirty and filthy.
A humble request to all, incase you don't find a dustbin please carry the wrappers in your bag and throw it later in the bin.

If you really want to enjoy some peace and tranquility, then go for a walk around the lake. The entire perimeter of the lake (about 2 kms) has been extremely well developed with a nice pathway including seating at regular points. The views are awesome and there are very few people, therefore nice and peaceful.

If you are at Mt Abu, and have limited time, miss everything else but this. This is an ultimate place. You will find everything here... right from big brands to greenery / nature to waters... everything is amazing.

Do not forget to do the boating (Do boating in evening to avoid the hot weather)

You can easily spend your evening here with family.... 1.5 to 2 hours boating area plus meals.

You will find a lot of food stalls / restaurant just outside the boating area. There are quite a few desert shops as well.

You have Dominoes Pizza & Subway outlet too.

There are traditional shops selling clothes sarees / souvenir, at reasonable prices.

This could have been the Nainital of West India ...alas, Nature provides, but man derides. If you ignore the bad maintenance of this lake, you could enjoy several cups of some real good tea by the lake !

You've come to Mt Abu to visit the Dilwara Temples. After that you may as well join the thousands of Gujaratis who flock here for a good time with alcohol ; and they all congregate around Nakki Lake. In the late afternoon there's a festive atmosphere. The shops, restaurants and parks are buzzing ; kids on rides with ice cream and sweets. Musicians, beggars and hawkers all trying to make a living.

All is okay . Like any other hill station .

An accident is waiting to happen . On your ascend to the Mount, one can notice that at many places the original concrete railings have been replaced with iron scaffoldings . These temporary structures have also crumbled due to the rash driving . Seems a disaster is waiting to happen on your climb or descend on the mount . With so many busses & dumpers plying the sloppy mountain a major repair is imminent.

On inquiring with the locals I was informed neither the municipality, tourism department or the state government or elected representatives are interested or bothered .

Would request you to highlight this danger waiting to happen
