Simon and his wife Wendy were the best! Nature Island Dive is by for the best dive shop on the island. They are extremely knowledgeable, care immensely about creating a safe and adventurous diving environment no matter your dive experience and also they care about ocean life and coral health. My husband and I are honeymooners on this island, and we were able to dive at 2 different shops. Because of the “safe in nature” quarantine, our initial dive was completed at another dive shop on the island. We left our first dive day disappointed by the quality of the dives, and decided to seek out another shop for our second dive day. We found Nature Island Dive and they really blew the other shop out of the waters. They were easy to communicate with, and transparent about what to expect given the weather conditions. Additionally, the staff was friendly and hospitable, extremely passionate about diving, and all of them have been diving since a the 90s (so very experienced!). The equipment was in good condition and sized us properly in our wet suits. Also!!! They have a little coffee/food cafe in the shop and my husband and I both had a lion fish sandwich that they make in house. IT WAS AMAZING! I felt a little seasick following the dive and the staff immediate made me some ginger tea and I felt back to normal in no time! Post dive, my husband and I hung around the shop for another hour just chatting with the staff and they were in no rush, and took time to get to know us. We enjoyed our interaction with them very much. If you’re looking for a dive shop that is professional, safe, knowledgeable, cares about the oceans and friendly. This is your place!

Thank you so much for the kind words! it was great having you dive with us and we are so glad to show the reason one gets certified. We were lucky to be able to do what we consider to be one the Caribbeans best sites. Despite the rough conditions on the surface you did AWESOME! I'm glad you trusted us to take you out there, it was an AMAZING dive! Congratulations on your wedding and we wish you many happy years together. Welcome to the Nature Island Dive family and we hope to see you back.

We just finished a five day dive package in association with Jungle Bay Resort. Everything about our experience was absolutely perfect. The dive shop is a short five minute drive from Jungle Bay Resort. The dive shop is staffed by super friendly and qualified people. The gear is first rate. The dive sites are no more than a ten minute boat ride allowing for a second tank dive interval to be spent onshore at the shop. And, not least, the diving itself is spectacular! The coral and fish populations are healthy and thriving. Lots of varied dive sites from 14 feet to 1,500 foot drop offs. It is scuba diving perfection!!

Deseree was a wonderful guide taking us to many magical sites within Sofriere Bay and Atlantic side. We ended up doing 3 -2 dive days. Besides the vast array of coral, sponges and critters, my favorite was octopus (My Octopus Teacher) and hearing and seeing the whales within the bay. Bernice served a delicious lion fish sandwich and hot latte after diving in house cafe. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Loved staying in the area and exploring.

I cannot say enough wonderful words to describe Nature Island Dive. From the moment you step in the shop they treat you like part of the family. The shop, boats and equipment are all in excellent condition. The dive sites are magnificent. If weather permits, diving the Atlantic sites are a must. You will not find better Dive Masters than Desiree and Vaughn. Simon Walsh and his wife Wendy, the owners, are always onsite and are more than willing to help with any issues you may encounter on the island,Be sure to try a lion fish sandwich in the cafe after your dive!

We got in 22 dives with Nature Island Dive during our visit. The team at NID treats you like family (popular family, not the ones who never get invited to holiday celebrations). We got loads of advice as we planned our trip, not just about the diving, but about the logistics of getting to Dominica during the pandemic, where to stay, where to eat, where to rent a car. And they went out of their way to get us to the best dive sites and the best conditions. Simon, Desiree, Wendy, Vaughn, Naz, and Raquine made everything so easy it was like falling out of a boat. And, if you’re not diving, Bernisa’s coffee and lionfish sandwiches are reason enough for a visit. We will return to Dominica and we will return to Nature Island Dive.

It was so much fun having you both here. It was nice for us to have someone around for that length of time, it was almost like Pre COVID times. We love our extended dive family and we miss adding new divers so Thank You! We will be here waiting for your next visit with fresh espressos and lionfish sandwiches.
