Though we were there at high tide but there was no strong motion as it was not the right season. Guessed the most exciting movement would happen from April to May, depending on the tides. It was a long walkway from shore to nearly the...More

Enjoyed this place after seeing the whirpool from boat, super place to enjoy the whirlpool that happen here. Very Good and super safe place to enjoy the walking below the bridge and getting details of the bridge and enjoying the views of the strait.

It was very windy & the steam boat was not in operation. The only best way to see the whirlpool was from the top of the bridge. The view was breathtaking and well worth the nice & easy walk on the bridge. If you're driving,...More

We didn't see any whirlpools, but didn't regret walking literally "below" the bridge to admire the straits. Where else in the world could one walk below a long suspension bridge, or cycle and walk on top of one, on the Kurushimakaikyo Bridge from Imabari ?...More

The drive from Osaka to this place was about 3hrs. The toll fee was super expensive on that day just to reach here. We followed the High tide timing on that day but there wasn't any whirlpool. Was so disappointing although the bridge and view...More

You can find the bus in Kobe and get there around 80mins to the Fukurakou, remember to check the ferry schedule and the whirlpools timing, normally it has 2-3 trips in the morning but only 1 in the afternoon.

The exciting view from the suspension bridge is about a number of whirlpools created by the water current. It looks as if it is big enough to swallow a mid-sized boat. Sightseeing boats sail as close as is possible to the whirlpools. The best time...More

I do not know of any other large suspension bridge in the world that has set up a walk way, complete with glass floor sections, so that you can walk out and look and the foaming whirlpools below. An exceptional experience. Dress warmly in the...More

This attraction is well worthwhile. It apparently is one of the big 3 tidal whirlpools, the others being in Italy and the USA. Plan and research before you go otherwise you could be disappointed. The location is fairly remote, there are some good hotels but...More

Tokushima prefecture is one four prefectures in Shikoku Island. The name Shikoku means four countries. It is separated from Japan's major island and is accessible by bridge, air and sea traffic. It is a very unpretentious view of the Japanese lifestyle. No glitz like you...More
