We‘ve enjoyed the the Canal for a nice relaxing walk from Josselin to Saint Gobrien (visiting the charming chapel there). It is a kind of romantic walk, wonderful for taking pictures galore.

The towpaths of the Nantes-Brest canal can be joined anywhere and followed for miles and miles of enjoyable cycling or hiking. The portion along the river L’Oust near Josselin and Malestroit is particularly enjoyable. So is the one near Chateaulin in the Finistere. Peaceful, tranquil...More

Great access along the towpath for a stroll or bike ride. Wildlife in abundance. A superb leisure resource and well kept secret!

All the Nantes Brest Canal is very beautiful and easy to ride by bike, but near Josselin is specially beautiful because of the imponent silouette of the castle. I reccomend without any doubt to do some km up or down stream (it is almost flat),...More

Took a wander along this from St Sansom to Rohan, and again around Gouarec. It's absolutely lovely, well maintained and well-used enough that it's peaceful without feeling too isolated.

We drove to Josselin which is a destination in itself, very beautiful, amazing chateau right on the canal. There is virtually no flat land in Josselin except alongside the canal. Fold up bikes (which we bought at Leclerc supermarket) were unloaded and with coffee and...More

We have visited the canal regularly over the last 20 years, and on a couple of occasions hired bicycles in order to cycle along the canal. This is a most enjoyable experience, and other than hiring a boat, one of the best ways to see...More

We stayed just by here - it was absolutely gorgeous. Quiet, flat, full of nature and so picturesque. Our son cycled and we walked. Other people fished and others took canal boats for holidays. We had never been to Brittany before but we will return...More
