    Tasty lunch spot
We opted for just the factory tour and tasting, the rest of the compound was really designed for much younger children than ours (although it's enjoyed hamming it up). FYI the factory doesn't actually operate on the weekend so your factory tour is really a story of what does happen rather than seeing it first hand (if you go on the weekend like us). We really enjoyed the tasting at the end
Hi AnnaNZPorirua Thank you so much for visiting and writing us a review. We are glad you had a wonderful time! We highly recommend doing the Livee bee Show next time you visit. It is fascinating and great for all ages! We hope to see you soon!

Little bit or Lots of Ginger
We visited The Yandina Ginger Factory a few weeks ago and what a delightful place. We did a tour and had a good look around then a coffee with ginger scones and purchase some ginger delights😊😊 All of this place is well worth a visit!! Also the Ginger Refresher is the best and is a concentrate with water to add. Very best Ginger Drink around far better than any other Ginger Beer or cordial on the market! Well worth visiting 😊😊
Hi chriskJ7789CF, Thank you so much for visiting and writing us a review. We have to agree the Ginger Refresher from Buderim Ginger is delicious! We love adding soda water and a wedge of lime, perfect for the hot days we have been having! We hope you will visit us again very soon!

Overboard... You Can't Catch Me, I'm The Gingerbread Man
We were just passing through, heading to Maroochydore but we had to have a quick stop at The Ginger Factory, for a top-up of their beautiful and the best tasting ginger products – yes, I know… we can order online but I much prefer to view the products in person and entry is FREE (including parking). If you want to do rides or factory tour tastings, you need to purchase your tickets either online or from the front desk – they accept both cash or card. We have been at The Ginger Factory a few years ago, the best experience for families – young or old, it’s fun, colourful and memorable. We took part in the ‘Overboard’ experience (our first visit a few years ago), the ride is smooth and the puppetry show was amazing and very entertaining – our girls absolutely enjoyed the ride, the smiles on their faces, was priceless… highly recommend. Their factory had welcoming renovations and more new activities since our last visit and their café area is still spacious, comfortable and ever so clean and strollers/wheelchair friendly access. There’s lots to choose to eat or drink, staff are very friendly and patient, well maintained and service quick and efficient, considering how packed the place was – definitely a popular tourism spot. This factory is well worth a visit or in my case… visits 😊, you could easily spend a few hours or a whole day there, lots to do and see. Or if you are on a tight budget, just simply stroll, browse around their beautiful surrounding and have something to eat and/or drink. They even have a Kids Play Area and lots of photo opportunities, love their beautiful mural display. Just before we left, we visited the gift stores and bought lots of goodies. If ginger products not for you, they do stock other delicious products and souvenirs (supporting other local companies as well). I bought a couple of jars of plum jam – they are rare to find, and of course my ginger survival pack. If you are planning on going to The Ginger Factory, download the Gruffalo Trail app, so you’re ready to go when you arrive and be part of the journey and follow the trail. No wonder why, The Ginger Factory is a popular place and why they have won many awards - well deserving! Definitely will be back again, just as couples and do the ‘Live Bee Show & Tastings’ and ‘Factory Tour & Tastings’. Highly recommend for young and old and they are opened 7 days a week (closed on Christmas day only), from 9am to 5pm.

Nice couple of hours spent here…
Had a great couple of hours here. We were meant to go last year but couldn’t make it and after emailing the day before, they were more than happy to let us use the “older” tickets. Clean, tidy and wasn’t too busy! Boat & Train ride were fun. Kids loved them. Gruffalo trail was excellent and interactive. Had a quick bite to eat and food was decent. Would recommend.
Hi deanwells8, Thank you very much for visiting and writing us a review. We are delighted to hear you had a wonderful day out with us. The Gruffalo Spotter Trail is amazing isn't it! We love that it is nestled within our beautiful rainforest. A great FREE activity! We look forward to seeing you again next time you visit 😊

    Factory tour woth doing.
Ginger factory is more geared towards families with young children. However, the factory tour is really interesting, the guide knowledgeable and tour tasting is really worth doing if you are an older group (including teens). Their garden is lovely (although a good section was closed during our visit due to recent storm damage) and the ginger and macadamia ice cream is definitely worth trying! For the young kids, there are boat and train rides which we didn't do with a 15yo, but seemed very popular.
Hi LaryssaW11, Thank you so much for visiting and writing us a review. We are thrilled to see you had a fabulous day out with us. Our tour guides love sharing their knowledge with our visitors and it is always lovely to hear that it shows! The Ginger and Macadamia gelato is delicious isn't it! A nice day out, ruined by commercialism
The Ginger Factory is a really fun day out, particularly for those with small kids. The train ride in particular is very informative and really enjoyable. Our nice day out was only marred by the stupidity of the boat ride. It was a busy early January day and we couldn’t understand why it took half an hour to get on the boat ride (our tickets allowed us “as many rides as we like”… fat chance with a half hour wait each time!) We had pre booked wrist bands at the front entrance and couldn’t understand why the boats were all leaving with 2-4 passengers when they seat 10-12. We soon saw why… the whole thing is set up to sell photos to tourists. They obviously realise if you have a boat full of strangers with you, you won’t buy an overpriced photo after. This might be fine on a quieter day, but in peak January holiday season, it’s ridiculous. We should have waited five minutes, but waited 30 instead so they could sell photos. A real shame since the rest of the park was excellent.

A great day out for people of all ages
My wife and I took two teenage grandchildren here for the day and it was a hit all round. As we were booked on tours, we had an early lunch at the restaurant where we found the menu to be relatively extensive, reasonably priced and not long to wait for our order. Nice food. We then did the factory tour which was interesting and informative, the only problem being noisy children who made it hard to hear the guide. We then checked out the shops before taking the entertaining train ride through the extensive grounds. This was followed by a walk through the forest before sampling the ginger ice cream and heading home. Both children want to return and we would be happy to take them there again. Worth considering booking rides etc on line as the queue at the ticket counter can be quite long.
Hi Schlepper1939, We are thrilled to see you had a fantastic experience with us! There is certainly plenty to do and it sounds like you were able to enjoy a lot of it. We hope you will stop by and visit us again soon 😊

    Fun at the Ginger Factory
I haven't been before, so I took my friend from Melbourne. We did the Factory tour and Harvest tour - both were very informative about how they grow and make their ginger products. The products are very yummy! You get to taste test on both of these tours. We saw heaps of families with kids there on the day - all the kids were having a great time too.

Pre-booked any tickets are easy and you get 10% off. Staff are very friendly and has a good plan for covid-19. We were there for the 1st time with 2 young girls, and did the Bee tour and train ride, had lunch in the cafe (very good btw) and ginger ice cream of course.
The playground is very small, and we didn't manage to walk around the garden and rainforest as we already spent 2 hours there.
Good stop fro our long-weekend, entry is free, so even stopping for some tasting or sightseeing is well recommended.

Staying with friends on the Sunshine Coast and it was a rainy day so we decided to visit Ginger WORLD! It was great from the moment we arrived until we left 4 hours later. The lovely lady at reception helped us get organised and we booked the lot and made a few adjustments along the way. The bee tour was a highlight as was the boat ride. I was particularly impressed with how the team assisted a large group of youngsters with special needs. The train trip was also quite good and I liked watching the driver feed the swamp hens to stop them running on the track. There is also lots of lovely things to purchase in the gift shops. Highly recommend a visit.

Hello Birt1964 Thank you so very much for writing such a lovely review. We will be sure to pass on your feedback to the team. It sounds like you did everything we have to offer here at the Ginger Factory. The Live Bee Show is one of my favourite activities here. We had a great day out here with the kids!

The boat ride was so good! What a great idea to have the kids find the gingerman in every country! The kids were completely engaged throughout the whole ride which took way longer than I expected.

The train ride was also nice and again longer than I thought. We also went to see the bee show at which we were the only people so we got a private show! The bee keeper was obviously very passionate about the bees and was very knowledagble. Our kids were a bit young to digest all the information but we (the grown ups) found it very fascinating. The kids did really like seeing all the bees at work though and seing how the honey is actually made. And the honey tasting was also a hit with them :)

The playground right next to the restaurant was of course a winner for the adults even though we were a little disappointed with our salad but that doesn't dampen our spirits. We brought our own food mainly anyway.

The gruffalo trail is also a great idea!

All up, we loved it here and will definitely be back!

Easy pathways to walk around. Easy access on and off train. Several pretty flowers in paths beyond the stores. Went towards end of day, no charge unless you want to hop on train or boat rides. Food ordered, chicken caesar salad was priced reasonable for quality and portion size.

I have bought season passes for all my grandkids (all under 7) and myself. Living locally this has been great value as they regularly request a visit. Their favourites are the boat ride, the Gruffalo walk and the toy shop with its old fashioned Kangaroo ride. There is always somewhere shady and quiet to have a bit of down time. The staff are always pleasant and the surroundings clean, green and well maintained.. Most recently I went with my granddaughter on a very busy day but when on the grounds it didn’t feel crowded at all and the wait for the rides was reasonable. I really appreciated the recent improvements of a shaded seating area near the jumping castle and the new interior play area. My granddaughter loves both these areas.

The Ginger Factory was fabulous, for a half day adventure. My daughter is one year old, and the factory offered, a boat ride and train ride. The cost was $20 for an adult to ride the train and boat and children free. Which was great value, as both rides went for a reasonable amount of time, and were very comfortable.

They also have a relaxing rainforest walk, and great playground for children of all ages.

Bought a ticket for a factory tour to be walked up a ramp and shown 2 areas from up top glass area that was it. The guide was good but half her job was to push a button and we watch a video telling us what she had already told us. For $70 for 2 adults I thought it was not worth the money. When we went to go on the train found out we had to pay a further $20. I almost fell over. Value for money NO.

We decided to visit the factory on a rainy day and thoroughly enjoyed the factory tour - established in 1990. Great to understand more about the ginger industry in Australia and how it evolved after WWII. Our guide Jill was fantastic and enthusiastic - learnt lots about the ginger processing.

The gardens are also worth exploring, together with a bite to eat at the Ginger Cafe.
