This has now become our favourite beach in Andalusia, the Zahora end is peaceful with very little to detract from a great day’s swimming and sunbathing (done in the nude), though bring some shade and a windbreaker if you plan to spend the whole day...More

Spent hours scouring the beach for clam shells and enjoing the ocean. Nice calm hippie-surfer-yoga spot.

Surfer's paradise - big waves, endless beaches, some (during winter time closed) fish restaurants and bars - everything you need for a great beach day. Even in January, people were surfing and the weather was sweet & sunny.

Long expanse of beach, clean soft sand. Even in high season you can find a quiet spot to chill. A few bars, a few sun loungers but nothing too in your face. My favourite summer time chill out spot. Sea can be tricky to get...More

If you like beach walking or running, this is your place. A beach from Conil to Cape Trafalgar if you want. Nice surf (depending on conditions), fine sand, beach wide enough even at high tide, not too crowded even on busy days. No services on...More

We had a couple of nights at El Palmar and two great afternoons lazing on the beach only broken up by lovely cool dips in the sea. We enjoy the beautiful Scottish Border and north Northumberland beaches in the UK so are quite spoilt, but...More

I spent 3 weeks in southern Spain and visited a beach a day. Even though El Palmar cannot be called virgin and has many facilities for tourism, I loved it. It has nice sandy beaches and the waters were clear when I was there in...More

I recommend you to stay in Vejer de la Frontera, one the most beautiful villages in Spain, really wonderful. Concerning the other question, near you have the coves of Quinto and Camacho.
