Beautiful beach, I have never visited one cleaner! A lovely and relaxed atmosphere, and plenty of places to get something to eat or drink within a short distance.

This beach is awesome and spectacular!!!. We were lucky the day we went the wind was calm, very unusual for that zone, well known for the high winds.
It is a long beach of white and fine sand. Dont expect many services, specially off season. Maybe that is the reason we where able to see the usual in any beach in Spain (naked torsos) plus a handfull of beachgoers in the nude taking a stroll. It didn't bothers us whatsoever but I understand this may offend somebody.

The beach and sea are lovely and clean and there was a nice relaxed atmosphere.
There is plenty of parking (it costs 3 euros for the day).
Only downside was the lack of a toilet!

great waves, even in july you will find a place for you alone on the beach, nudist area, like the cool atlantic sea, but be aware: it could be really windy! and there is no natural shade! cool small beach bars! go for el dorado, beachbar & surf school!

Beautiful beach with good waves and lots of space, a couple of wee shops, bars, restaurants ( Casa Paco is good ) and a lovely breeze, it is hard to beat. Some free parking and various fields for 3 euros a day make it all very easy, it gets pretty busy at weekends.
We were told to watch out for shelves under the water and currents but we have never had any problems - they operate a coloured flag warning system. There are life guards but the are virtually invisible. Lovely place.

Great unspoiled beach, no big hotels yet, but plenty of surf camps and hostels. Restaurants are overpriced but parking is fair. Plenty of surfers which means waves, but mostly during winter. Most restaurants closed during winter, will come again for the surf..

We visit this beach regularly when in Vejer, it is very rarely busy even in peak season as it is so long there is plenty of room for people to spread out. Beach is mostly soft sand with a little shingle, looking forward to our next visit! Highly recommended

Best beach, and wave conditions for surfers.
Fair priced surf board rentals, courses/lessons, along the beach walk.
Many "cervecerias" and tapas places open all year.
Great for a walk, would weather not invite for swim or surf.
Located between Playa "Zahora" and Playa Conil.

I spent 3 weeks in southern Spain and visited a beach a day. Even though El Palmar cannot be called virgin and has many facilities for tourism, I loved it. It has nice sandy beaches and the waters were clear when I was there in August. It is a large beach, providing for space. Chiringuitos play relaxing music and I enjoyed a decent lunch at La Selva. My girlfriend decided to do a wave surfing class and we watched the sunset afterwards. Great place!

Definitely not a tourist trap. This is Spanish through and through and much the better for it.
Lots of parking some of it for free, and loads of choice of beach bars etc.
The only downside is the wind. The day we were there it was very windy so make sure you have umbrellas to block it out otherwise you'll spend the day wiping sand from your eyes.

En los aparcamientos de la playa del Palmar tienen duchas para los clientes del aparcamiento? Y si es así sabéis cómo se llama dicho aparcamiento?

What is the current situation due to COVID? Are business open? People are still visiting in smaller quantities of course? I would love to meet the beach but more the vibe and people I heard to hang there. Are the Hippie Bar/Mercado open ?

Hola!

We would like to know where is it ok to sunbathe and swim nude. Facing the sea left or right. Any pointers will be much appreciated. Also can anybody suggest a good place/ village to stay. We are in our 50's, prefer to mingle with other nationalities. Love to eat out and have a quiet time

I recommend you to stay in Vejer de la Frontera, one the most beautiful villages in Spain, really wonderful. Concerning the other question, near you have the coves of Quinto and Camacho.
