Views from Bredon hill folly are amazing and worth the walk. If parking in Elmley Castle village, (parking opposite the cricket club). It’s about an hour walk up and same again down at a leisurely pace. If you want to knock off 20 mins there are a couple of spots you could park up Hill Lane which is the rod you walk up. Once at the top of the lane there is a footpath into the woods and then follow pretty much any path going upwards to find yourself at the top of the hill with fabulous views as far as the Welsh hills in the distance.

What a lovely place. I hadn't heard of it before but found it by a random google map search for somewhere to walk, and glad I did
Parked in Elmley Castle village and walked up Hill Lane to the stary of the hill itself.
Steep and gravelly in place so watch your step, but there are different route options to take.
Such a quiet and peaceful walk through woods and up the hill and past a lovely little farmhouse towards the tower and the peak. Footpaths are easy to follow and not too arduous, and even the tough bits are worth it when you get to the top and look out over the shire across to Malvern Hills!

Having seen Bredon Hill many times from the top of the Malverns I had wanted to do this walk for a long time. Although not as high as Worcestershire Beacon on the Malverns, Bredon Hill is by no means its inferior little brother. The walk is just as rewarding and the scenery is equally as dramatic...with spectacular 360 degree views across the Vale of Evesham, the Cotswolds and the Malverns.

The summit point by the tower is the perfect place for a picnic and whilst it was clearly a popular spot on the day of our visit, there is oodles of room for everyone & you can easily enjoy your own piece of solitude whilst taking in the stunning panaromic views.

We started our walk from Elmley Castle village and make sure you visit its very pretty church yard before you leave.

In summary, this was a truly inspirational walk which on a beautiful sunny day is the perfect way to help lift anyone out of lockdown lethargy.

Lovely surrounding countryside and some great views. My tip is to park in Elmley Castle and walk up Hill Lane, taking the footpath at the end which takes you up to the top of Bredon and ultimately to the tower. On the way back you can stop for refreshments at the great Queen Elizabeth public house.

Still one of my favourite walks in Worcestershire. Great views across the vale of Evesham and beyond, best on a clear day. Good parking in Elmley Castle either on the road or a small car park opposite the cricket ground, well sign posted routes.

We moved back to the area in 2010, with Bredon Hill being one of the key factors in our decision. As keen walkers we can take advantage of the network of footpaths in the surrounding area and choose one of many routes up to the top. Approaching from the North (Elmley Castle, Ashton Under Hill, etc) will present you with some quite steep walking. If you come from the South however, approaches from Westmancote, Kemerton and Overbury are somewhat gentler.
The old folly and Elephant Stone at the top are where most people head for. Depending on your route there you'll likely see some great views towards the Malverns in the West or the Cotswolds to the East. Both can be seen from the 'summit'.
If you happen to work up a thirst, the Crown in Kemerton is one of the best pubs in the area.

Park in the village and do the circle walk, takes about 2 hours great views for the top. Stop at the village pub for a drink or lunch.

I am extremely lucky to live at the foot of Bredon Hill in Little Comberton. From which ever direction you start your walk there will be great views to see. There is a great deal of wildlife especially deer. There are many Buzzards and Crows flying around. Plus the occasional Red Kite. The the most notable thing about my review I want to mention and this is a little unknown fact. But if you are on top of the hill and look due east, there is no hill or land higher than Bredon Hill until you reach the Ural Mountains. Good job the east wind doesn’t blow in very often. But as others have mentioned the views are extensive and on a good day you can see the Severn bridges and in the other direction the Shropshire hills and westwards beyond Herefordshire into Wales. All in all always a great visit at any time of the year.

We walked up from Elmley Castle which is a beautiful village with plenty of parking along the main wide road. We walked up to Bredon Hill one way and came back another. Unfortunately the signage on the route back wasn't great and we only had an OS 1:50 000 map which didn't have field boundaries marked so we managed to get a bit lost on the way back and had to walk through fields with bulls in them! Decided we were not prepared to walk back through those same fields to try to find the footpath that we had lost, so ended up having to vault two barbed wire covered fence to get out to road! If you are intending walking in this area I would suggest getting the 1:25 000 OS map as this has field boundaries - which show where the footpath is meant to go - as we found the signs were lacking in places! The view from the top is amazing though - you can see for miles in many directions. The Malverns are easily picked out.
