Traditional culture experience
Sep 2019 • Family
Our guide explained many relationships about living in a traditional village. How the village was an autonomous entity and the rice field production and village life connections. We were shown inside the ‘chief’s’ house and told of the way the system is patriarchal.
The ancestors burial ground in the centre and the special tree linking their spirits to those living in the village. Also the significance of the stone wall with the steps and hitching posts.
If you visit you must get the cultural background or you may think this visit a waste of time.
My grandson liked the traditional musical instruments and the house structure, especially the roof layer structure.

Good place to visit near Ruteng Town
Aug 2019 • Friends
If you want to find a place to visit near Ruteng town within 15 minutes this is a must.
However you need to have at least 50.000 IDR with you to pay for entry and guide.
You can take pictures and learn about their history with the guide (pay him around 20.000 IDR per person, entry pay is 20K IDR

It was instructive to be welcomed into the village chief' house to learn about the structure of the village and how it operates.

A tradional village

If this is your first time in Indonesia, it s a good start, locals are friendly and want to tell their history, a bit rundown, but a good start for exploring other traditional villages

Only 2,5 houses between common, modern houses

The "village" contains 2 large and 1 small traditional houses, so it is not a village. Although the villagers were missing. Nothing compared to other real traditional villages...Not worthit

Pu'u Village has great, young guides who are formally training in tourism.

These structures are authentic and still lived in. The internal framework has five stories and mirrors the Spiderweb rice field design. Very nice cultural village
