About
WINE TASTINGS BY APPOINTMENT We cultivate healthy grapes so that wine lovers can enjoy healthy and authentic wines, and ecology is the main guiding principle of our boutique wine production. Did you know that wine contains more than a thousand ingredients that are beneficial for the human body? However, because of its only harmful ingredient, the alcohol, it should be enjoyed with moderation. As with any other medicine, the dosage is important. Our wines are genuine, natural, and bear the seal of their vintage year. They are untreated and it is best to get to know them at the source, at our place. You can come for a wine wellness retreat, detoxify and educate yourself on organic wines and wine culture in the embrace of centuries-old sycamore trees, guardians of the old cellar and the ethnographic collection. Each wine has its own special story which we will tell you at the educational wine tastings. Those are also available in foreign languages (English, German, and French).

We found this 400 year old family owned winery through Lonely Planet. The family is now in their 6th generation of wine making, mostly whites, as this region is mainly known for whites, and recently started producing reds. The winery (and it's cellars) dates back to the 17th century and has seen many historical events. Jasna Lovrec, daughter of the family, hosted our tour and wine tasting. She gave us a personal history of the winery then gave us a tasting of 8 very nice wines. She also served some bread, cheese and ham with the tasting. As is customary with wineries here, she gave us a bottle of wine of our choosing which is included in our tasting fee. It was such a pleasant and fun way to spend a couple hours in the afternoon and Jasna was such an informative and warm host. We recommend a visit to Vino Lovrec if you are in this area!

1. My husband and I were road-tripping from Vienna, through slovenia, croatia and slovakia. On our way to Bratislava, we detoured through Medimurje, so glad we did. Vino Lovrec is off the beaten path, very few tourists, and its a beautiful drive on the countryside.
2. The history of this place will knock you off your feet. This isn't a typical wine tasting experience, but instead a look into the region's past. We thoroughly enjoyed ALL of the stories and wanted more.
3. This estate has been in the family for 6 generations. They know their wine and it's freaking delicious.
4. This is also great value for your money, and Jasna and her brother are pleasant and such a joy. I highly recommend it!

We had a fabulous time here. We emailed the afternoon before and had a prompt reply to say it was ok to come the following day. On arrival we had a brief tour of the winery and the tasted fabulous 10 wines over the next 2 hours. The guide was informative about wine, the history of the winery and the region and also life in Croatia. The cost of 80kn per person included a bottle of wine of choice per person at the end of our time. We could not recommend this visit more highly.

Vino Lovrec was at Špancirfest in Varaždin. They had position in “Wine town”. Their wine was really great. We enjoyed every sip. Their Sauvignon and Viteško (Kinght wine) was excellent.

The Lovrec vinery is located in a beautiful and pristine part of Croatia. We visited them with our guests from Germany; first we took a tour throughout excellent ethnographic collection guided by Jasna Lovrec in perfect German language. The collection tells story about wine production from the perspective of a Lovrec family history in this craft. It is located inside a 16th Century old wine cellar that was used in the times of noble family Zrinski! After that, we continued our program at the cozy tasting house and learned about nine different types of wines from the family’s production. All wines can be bought at very reasonable prices.
This was an extraordinary experience for our guest which didn’t know a lot about wine production in northern Croatia and I would recommend it to everyone who is interested in experiencing something different.

One of the oldest and most beautiful wineries in Medjimurje. Almost a museum, the family-driven economy offers to the guests a bit of history, a lot of hospitality and great wines.

This is truly hidden gem in Medjimurje. We stumbled on this winery accidentally. It is beautiful, especially the guest house and the wine cellar. As we heard it is also the oldest winery in this part of Croatia. Host are very friendly and we felt as we are at home. The best part are the wines. Very fresh, light and refreshing. Absolutely recommended.

We had called a day ahead to ask for an English guided tour and wine tasting, went perfect! The tour was good and the wine even better! We bought four bottles so we can enjoy it later at home
