About
Situated in Palazzo Pianetti, the foremost example of 18th-century architecture in Jesi, the museum is known for its unique Rococo gallery of ornate polychrome stuccos, the only one of its kind in central Italy. The main floor houses an important collection of art from older periods who stands out as one of the major artists of the Renaissance. Above it, on the same floor as the private apartments occupied by the Pianetti family since the early 1900s, the Gallery of Contemporary Art houses a display of art works dating from the mid 19th century to the present day.

A beautiful palace with frescoed rooms, divided into three floors: ground floor the archaeological part, first floor the noble part, the most beautiful with the gallery of stuccoes in Rococo style, with many rooms frescoed with masterpieces from the 14th to the 19th century, a couple of rooms occupied by the works of Lorenzo Lotto, there are some by Guercino, a private painting by Rubens and important painters from Marche. On the second floor are exposed contemporary works, beautiful alcove room. Well worth a visit.

Beautiful town Jesi. A little off the tourist circuits but if in passing it is worth stopping to visit some sites, among these definitely in the foreground Palazzo Pianetti. On the first floor unexpected a series of rooms with beautiful frescoes and stucco. Vale sicuramente la visita! Recommended.

This museum has a phenomal collection of paintings by Lorenzo Lotto. Miraculous frescos on the ceiling. When we were there we were the only people in the museum. And there's the frescoes gallery as well. The staff are lovely. It's unbelievable there aren't more people visiting it is a real treasure. Go to this museum and the palazzo della signoria In Jesi. You won't be sorry.

Lovely place to visit with students. Lots of seats you can’t sit on that are for decoration however the normal ones that do not have signs saying do not sit on are apparently not allowed either as the very rude stern woman took great glee in telling off our children. Lovely pictures and ceilings but rude staff.

We were surprises by the wonders of this palace: amazing rooms, beautiful soffit frescoes and the most wonderful pinacoteche. Several paintings by bolognese artist and even a Rubens.

Not only are the works of art displayed worth seeing but also the palazzo itself. The 70 metre long gallery (or corridor) is one of the best examples of rococo` baroque decoration. The frescoes on the gallery sides and ceilings, as well as those upstairs on the ceilings, are marvellous. We particularly liked the ones devoted to the "four seasons" and the four famous writers/inventors of their times - Dante, Virgilio, Boccaccio and Da Vinci. We could chose a guide book with comments on the most important works of art in Italian or English. The works of Lorenzo Lotto show his talent and give justification to his fame. There is also a collection of apothecary jars (showing the five main types), amazing to see such a large collection of this type. Good news that the Gallery does not close for the afternoon siesta. By purchasing a full ticket here you will get 50% off at the Frederick II Museum (same day entry).
