Fascinating guide to one of history's often overlooked giants. There are no furnishings or belongings from the time of Frederick, as the only connection with Jesi is that he was born here. He actually grew up in Sicily. You are given an audioguide that activates whenever you enter one of the rooms. Well, mostly. We had to dance around a few times to activate it. But the program is absolutely absorbing. Dozens of high-resolution monitors tell the story of Frederick, his times, his love of science, his respect for the muslims and jews who lived within his realm, and his battles with various Popes. He was excommunicated three times, so they considered him a bad boy. Dante placed him in hell as Host of the Circle of Heresy.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed visiting this fascinating museum!

This was the only place open on a Sunday in late summer (August 2022) when we were in Jesi. It was very hot outside, so we were thrilled the air con worked - and it was also an excellent museum. We’d highly recommend it to anyone who is in Jesi. The exhibits combine aural, video and reading options - and are simply outstanding.

We have visited the exhibition and we liked the different approach. Each room tells you a part of his life. It's in Italian (of course), but there are texts on the walls with the English translation. If you understand a bit of Italian you can also enjoy the stories that are told.
We learned a lot about this important historical figure and we are glad to understand more why he is so present in Le Marche.
It takes you about an hour and a half to visit the exhibition.

The museum is located in the main square, very convenient.
It is an interactive museum, full of visual aids and three dimensional display.
It narrates the history of FredricK II the emperor of the sacred Roman Empire, who happened to be born in the square. The museum well articulates the history of the man, of the time, of all powers that p,Syed a role,
I was there with my parents in their eighties, as well as my daughters who are 12 and 10. There were given au English audio guide and they really enjoyed it.

This wonderful multimedia exhibit is truly amazing. We presented and very informative. Surprisingly it was even open when all of Italy was at the beach for the holiday but we and many others delightedly found the hour and a half tour very good. Thanks also to the wonderful administrator whose English helped us and showed us that Fredrick II was truely a man ahead of his times.

Interactive, modern, visual. In a contemporary key and also usable from an educational point of view, this pleasant place takes you into the fantastic world of Frederick, starting from his birth, which took place in the square of Jesi, where his mother deliberately intended to give birth, to silence the evil tongues who thought there would never be an heir to the throne, considering that Frederick was born after 10 years of marriage. The visit branches out into 12 rooms that tell his life, passing from his exploits to his passions towards medicine, mathematics, astronomy, the “cult of the occult”. Suggestive are both the delicate room at the castles that Federico had built the length and breadth of Italy, and the virtual interview that was done to Federico himself ... to visit!

The Museum is located in the center of Jesi, it does not have a very flashy entrance and initially, in fact, from the outside, it looked like a small, old museum a bit shabby. Convinced by the good reviews, the modest price and the sympathy for Frederick II, however, my friends and I entered and we totally changed our minds. The museum is almost entirely multimedia, in fact it tells the life, deeds and historical importance of the emperor through the animation of iconographic sources and videos made with costumed actors, who impersonate the characters whose stories they tell. In addition, for example, display cases containing papal robes, models of castles and didactic panels. The only out of tune note was the last room, under renovation.
To visit the sixteen rooms, listening and watching all the narratives, it takes about an hour and a half.
Very kind were also operators, who showed us the various activities that the museum offers. Consigliato!

The multimedia rendering of this site with several videos makes the visit pleasant and smooth that would otherwise risk being boring. We liked the route we took after visiting several Swabian sites around Italy. Recommended.

Museum that expresses an alternative conception of fruition, entirely played on the level of multimedia experience, without the presence of artefacts. A narrative journey that traces the entire life and work of Frederick II and his legacy to posterity. Be prepared to spend more than an hour if you want to follow the route through the 16 rooms to the end.
