Lucky enough to visit this place in a perfect weather. It’s worth coming if you’re in the Guangdong province.

You need at least a full day to do this place justice

It is a massive national park. Walking paths are flat and planked and easy to walk on. The Yang Yuan Stone is the largest phallic symbol I have ever seen. A photo of it will impress your friends to no end.

The famous genital mountain
Jan 2018 • Couples
That thing is huge.
The whole park is massive,
Took me 2 hours go down from one mountain than another one hour to climb to the one that shaped like penis ....
The park is incredible and well preserved
A must visit if you are in china

But ... there is one thing.
Foreigners not allowed to buy ticket for one year entry only for 1 time entry.
You might want to go there 2 or more days to climb and that will cost you a double.

Sun arise early in the morning
Oct 2016 • Couples
After visting Nan Hua Temple we drove here, nearly a two hour drive which in Chinese terms is just around the corner.
Arrived in time to see sunset. The most expensive sunset ever! 15Yuan to get the car into the park, then 70Yuan each for the cable car, and a whopping 150Yuan each to 'view' the sunset and sunrise the next morning (another 70Yuan for the cable car). Dramatic sunset mountain views from the viewing platform. Left the hotel at 4:30 am to see the sunrise at 7 am which attracted thousands! Got the free bus from the entrance. Monster queues to get up, down. Everybody pushing and shoving to see the sun through clouds.
After a late breakfast/early lunch, there are hundreds on restaurants near the entrance, we went on a one hour 90 Yuan boat trip. A nice way to see the park. Too tired to walk any further so drove back to GuangZhou, this took 4 hours but I reckon 3 hours on a normal day rather than a holiday.

Whole day trip from Shaoguan
Mar 2016 • Couples
Danxia mountain visit takes a whole day. I recommend to take a guided tourist trip there, since the attractions are located in different places and it is easier to catch them all with help of tourist guide.

Don't go to the museum
Feb 2016 • Friends
The park is good, but not the museum.

I went to the museum but decided not to enter the building because the entrance fee was too high. Also the building is quite small. I assume that every information it offers can be found on the internet.

Enormous geological park
Feb 2015 • Couples
Danxiashan is a spectacular geological park made up of impressive sandstone formations, cliffs and ravines. Unlike other similar parks, these formations are also covered in dense green foliage, characteristic of Guangdong's natural beauty. You can easily spend a day, 7-10 hours, walking around one side of the park. There is also a cable car ride to save time. Unfortunately the park is known primarily for the male and female rocks, but there is so much more to see here.

Stunning mountain park
May 2015 • Couples
An enormous geological park an hours' bus journey from Shaoguan. Give yourself at least a day to see the park in it's entirety. Featuring a Taoist temple carved deep into a cliff face, great views from the summit and a vast variety of nature, flora and fauna, the park is a great way to spend a day exploring the many trails which meander round the place. Don't forget to stock up on water and snacks before entering the park as the prices are extortionate the higher up you climb. Try and avoid during national holidays as it was far too busy when we visited. 200RMB ticket which is valid for 48 hours. Be aware also that the male rock is in another section of the park which should be visited on day two of a trip to Danxia Shan.

okay so the geological landscapes sexual in nature

Well i have to admit that the aptly named male rock and female rock are spot on. The breast rock required a little more imagination. I stayed in a hostel within the park and its good for two full days of hiking to see the entire park. There are many temples located here. By the way there are many danxia parks in china this is not the one with multicolored rocks

Shaoguan has sex.....
May 2013 • Couples
Way back over 20 years ago, we took a taxi to see an exhibition on Chinese sex culture in Shanghai. It was a hard fine and the rewards was not satisfactory. I recall that the exhibition displayed everything and mainly highlights how ancient people indulges in erotica. Now the tour bus took us directly to the entrance of another sex museum in Shaoguan. The ticket office was closed but there are tickets sold at a nearby table - 35 RMB. But not again!

After lunch, the tour guide led us to the mountains where he said a big male sex organ is displayed. As we took the cable car up to the viewing gallery, we expected to see something like the grandfather's rock of Koh Samui! The day was cloudy and darken by drops of rain. So the sight of the mountain rocks said to be very brownish and beautiful was not clear especially when they are covered by the mist.

Our next stop was the highlight of the trip - the male sex organ rock. As we walked the road leading to the mountain, we saw some pomelo trees which fruited trumpet-like fruits! A farmer was selling some farm produce.. Then there it was, the big P...beside a mountain. This one looks so real that we thought it was carved out from the rock by an artist. And the model who exhibits his 'thing' must be a man in great demand! Wow! So big, a woman exclaim! And a nice one too!, hehehe!

Besides the sex organ rock, we could not see any other interesting sceneries. There is a brown water river which meanders across the mountains. Many queued to take the ride - maybe next time!
