The ski slopes are in total 60km long. It is not the best spot for advanced skiers but to learn is perfect. Anyhow there are some black slopes to enjoy the resort. Basically a perfect solution for families woth young children that need to learn to ski.

The infrastructure is very good and the price of the ski pass is at normal level. Beginners find what they need to learn, the colour of the piste gives a true information. Advanced level of very experienced … everyone can find what he needs. If one is lucky enough to be there in " Kaiserswetter " ► blue sky and a the sun in the zenith, you can ski your heart out of your body !!!

In general I would not recommend Skigebeit Gitschberg Jochtalfor advances skiers. The resort is quite small – less than 60 km routs that are located on two different mountains. Advanced skiers are forced to ski at 4-5 same routs over and over again. Also slopes are quite short so there is no chance to really force yourself to an edge. However, since I was there with 9-year old son for a ski course I have also other perspective. The slopes are good for a beginner to semi-advanced ski courses. That for sure is a plus. I cannot give any recommendation on ski schools, since we were on an organized trip with our own instructors. Also the restaurants get really crowded for lunch between 12.00-13.00. On each of the mountains there are like 1-2 bigger restaurants which seems like not sufficient.

We ski a lot and usually prefer the larger skiing resorts with longer runs, but Gitschberg is just so nice for two or three days of skiing. (I suppose if you are a beginner, you can spend a whole week there.) From the summit you can enjoy the most wonderful views of the mountains, which is why I love this resort. Pistes are well groomed.

We went there in this autumn and we had the chance with a sonny and warm day. We did a walk around the aim (a roundtrip walk) The signposting were very well done and it is very easy to find the right way even you don't have a map with you. Was perfect! I can immagine that each season has a charming point.
