    BEST WINERY/OLIVE TOUR EVER!! 💖🐈🍷🦚🧡💛
Our best winery 🍷 tour ever! We visited on a group cruise excursion and absolutely loved this charming and informative vineyard/olive orchard. The guide was lovely explaining everything to us. The museum has such old relics, and the grounds are stunning with peacocks 🦚 everywhere and a friendly Greek cat 🐈 half way through the tour, we were all taken to be seated under trees with gorgeous tables set out with delicious Mediterranean fare and 1 bottle of red and 1 white, extremely generous. We were never rushed and would highly recommend this tour to everybody. Big thanks to the staff 🙏

It's difficult to describe the beauty of this place and how friendly the people are who work there. There is an old world charm to the place which can only be earned through many years of cultivation and care. Christos is one of the kindest and most generous human beings you will likely meet and Zacharoula is just extraordinary. The wine is delicious and very affordable. Take a glass of the white and go for a walk around the gorgeous property. Don't be surprised if you see some peacocks roaming around! I am looking forward to the chance to return.

We were in Katakolo(n) for one day and not being interested in visiting Olympia, we took a trip on the little train (6E). The first stop was at Mercouri Estate winery where, for 3E we received a sample of their wine (red or white). The ladies who run the winery were very pleasant, one spoke good english and we had an enjoyable time sitting at the picnic tables and strolling in the grounds. There's no spectacular reason to visit this winery, it's just a picturesque relaxing way to spend an hour or so and interact with the owners (and their friendly little cat). If I had any suggestions, I think the addition of some comfortable seating in the courtyard would be well received.

Wonderful view, kind people and nice weather. Wine is absolutely fascinating and there is a wide variety of options. Would 100 percent recommend to take time and visit this place. The place has well preserved facilities from the last century, which is highly good for educational purposes as well.

My wife and visited this winery in May, whilst in Katakolon for the day on a cruise ship.

A delightful setting, the wines were very nice and excellent value. However, staff were inattentive and could have made the whole experience much more enjoyable. It was like “here’s your wine, go for a walk around the winery”. There was no guide or explanation about the wines or the winery. We had to ask questions about everything….nothing was forthcoming from the lady running it.

Disappointing as it could have been a fabulous experience.

Well, our favorite part was walking around on the beautiful old estate. For a while it felt like being in Italy instead of Greece. But the tasting of the great red and white wines was, of course, what we came to do. The fact that we left with 15 bottles of wine says enough.

During our visit we were guided by Zaxaroula. And she was really wonderful. Anything we wanted or needed, she took care of it. She was absolutely the best and we will return!

We visited the Mercouri Estate winery as part of a tour offered by the cruise we were on. This was a very pleasant surprise. If we had been visiting on our own we certainly would have stayed longer. The winery is a first class operation located in a beautiful setting. The tasting was very good, and the quality of the wine much better than we thought it would be. Not being true aficionados, we just know what we like and what appeals to our pallet. We liked the Foloi (a dry white) so much that we purchased two bottles to take back to the ship to enjoy. The wine tasting took place under the shade of trees, and wonderful ambiance. If you are ever near Katakolon, Greece I highly recommend you visit the Mercouri Estate winery, I doubt you will be disappointed, visit and enjoy!

We came to Katakolon on a cruise, decided not to visit Olimpya as most of our fellow cruisers would do, and instead rent a quad and visit the region, a couple of beautiful beaches and this cosy nice and old winery. We are producers of wine in Spain in a medium size family owned old winery as well, and appreciate very much the time that the lady in charge (sorry I do not remember her name :() shared with us to taste all their wines with us and show us briefly how wine making here was. A bit different than the way we do them in our region in Spain, but very authentic, old fashioned way. We enjoyed very much, and indeed, especially if you are keen on old, small, family wineries it worthed the visit. I fully disagree with the comment of Claireth2002, although maybe they simply did not know where they were going and therefore they expected something different... What you find there is exactly what you can expect from and old small winery in Greece. Nice and interesting. We even purchased a set of the wines we liked as well as some bottles of olive oil.

My family and I visited Mercouri Winery during our port stop in Katakalon, Greece. We were immediately struck how by how beautiful the estate is, with several picturesque areas filled with bright, blooming flowers. The prices for the tasting were very reasonable and the staff was friendly. The wine was also absolutely amazing. We wound up buying multiple bottles after our tasting. The highlight of our experience was the hospitality of the owner, Christos. He brought us into his office and answered all of our questions about the history of the winery. It was by far one of the best and most personal experiences I’ve had at a winery! I highly recommend it.
