Worth to see

Definetely worth to see. Both, adults and children should enjoy the visit. Possible to get there by car or have walking to the castle, unfortunately by asphalt road.

First the positive. The tickets were sufficiently cheap and they offered a fine student discount. The personal was nice and we had a nice smiling guide. The tour took about 1 and a half hour and covered a few rooms throughout the castle including a interesting library and a chapel. Unfortunately out guide was non-english speaking, which for the record... More

I walked through the castle and its beautiful surroundings and no wonder that the Czech King Wenceslas I (reigned 1230-1253) come here to hunt, or at least relax.

My daughter and I visited this castle on a snowy day in January. We have driven from Prague and the last 20 kms were through the forests and snowy fields. We were the only car at the carpark where we paid 50 Kc for unlimited parking. We walked through the snowy forest across a little bridge over the road. We... More

This is a great choice for one-day trip from Prague. You can take train or even one of the nostalgic trips by historical train, as we did. These special journeys are joined with markets and concerts and we highly recommend that! The castle itself is located on a top of a mountain, really beautiful. To eat you should choose Hradní... Nice castle not far from Prague. Located in the woods of Central Bohemia. During the season many activities are organized - the historical markest, with crafting, traditional products available to buy, fencing tournaments etc. In the castle you can choose different tours with different topics. Good for travellers who like history and also for families.

We took the train from Prague to Krivoklat, changed in Beroun. Nice scenic train ride along the river. Work on the train tracks made it necessary to change to a bus at the last stop before Krivoklat, all part of the adventure! There is a short walk up a steep road to the castle. Since it was the off season,... More

In one of my previous reviews I wrote Karlstejn Castle was the best castle I have ever been to. I stand corrected. Krivoklat Castle was just amazing. The interior and exterior of this castle were absolutely amazing. I recommend getting a private guide to take you here for translation purposes. The tours are only in Czech and the paper guides... We had a private day tour and wanted to see this castle. When we got there (mid-day), there were no more tours in English, so we took a tour in Czech and were given a 3 page handout, in English, that pretty much was what the guide said along the tour. It was very easy to follow as we went.... More

I visited Krivoklat castle today, and I didn't see where to buy tickets and the last tour runs an hour before the castle closes, which this time of year is 15:00, so last tour was just after I got there. The tour guide said the tour was also over full, there must have been 40 people in that last tour.... More
